The word you're looking for is "goth" m'dear. I can't really say much for your taste in music or grammar, but welcome to g-net.

Make your own thread, please and thank you. It's terribly rude to threadjack someone's introduction.

Gothrina - I know how that feels, not much of the alternative subcultures around where I live, though there is something of a small punk scene if I care to bus to it XD.

For some reason as soon as I read your intro I had the urge to reccomend Switchblade Symphony as a good band to check out, so here's a link

What you say is true, but I started out much the same. When I first joined I thought goth was metal XD. The good people here gently (or not so gently) informed me of my error, and showed me true goth rock. Needless to say, I fell in love with it, and here I am.

I think at least a small effort should be made to educate all the newbies who are misinformed. I was given that chance, and I think others should be granted the same favour.

Welcome gothrina.
We do have to say that many of the things you like are not actually goth per se.
They're the cliché version that kids that want to feel all dark try to become. It is ironically more 'gothic' than the Goth style is, when you define 'gothic' as that morose and redundant style of literature a century or two ago.

If that's what you like, then ok, but try to give actual goth music a chance. I'd say it's much much cooler, but then again of course I'm going to say that.

Well, if you want to give a shot to goth music, then there's these bands:
The Cure (who can not love them?)
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Bauhaus
Christian Death
Specimen
Sisters of Mercy
The Mission UK
Southern Death Cult
Rosetta Stone
London After Midnight

I mentioned bands that don't sound like the others in the list so that it doesn't become redundant while you try them out.

But also, if music is your life, then try the great artists of all times like Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and others. There's no reason to ignore good music just because it's not 'goth'

I just heard a song by London After Midnight.
I like them.
Thank you for the recommendation, though not to me was it adressed.

Ah I thought you were laughing at the original poster...

All of which is irrelevant now, as the OP isn't half as bad as I thought.
