I feel terribly misanthropic today. I've had to refrain from punching people in the face to reward their general stupidity today...

I just realized why the movie Poltergeist always gave me nightmares, I had the same headboard as Carol Anne.

I'm snooping around the Human Resource data folders and they make for some VERY interesting reading.

I always hated the scene where his face fell apart and the meat had maggots in it, to this day I can't see it and not want to look away. I couldn't eat mince meat for the longest time when I was little because uncooked it looked to me like there could be maggots in it.

I've got a virus, which is stupid for as much tech support and computer experience as I have. And I'm running an anti-virus and anti-spyware program, so it shouldn't have happened.

I had clues, like when first attempts to go to google search pages took to the wrong site. Then I'd save pictures from websites or download files and they would appear to save okay but when I'd look for them, there would be no trace of them on my computer. And I found out the anti-virus program hasn't scanned since 9/26 and it won't scan anything except a single file now.

Today I looked up online virus scanners in google. After trying to run bitdefender's online scanner, my Internet Explorer won't open any more. Now I'm down to Firefox and trying not to lose that. Since I can't download anything on this computer, I guess the next step will be to download a different anti-virus program to a flash drive on another computer and then try to install it here.

Wish me luck.

Yeah, not on the laptop and not after the fact. I've got some specific Windows apps I'm running on here, and I've never found anything as nice (for free) as Audacity for recording and mixing my voice-over work. Still, I do have a version of Linux I can run direct from the CD. hmmm ...

That also reminds me that I was going to convert the main desktop to a dual boot system. Thanks for the reminder.

Audacity is available for *nix distros. The virus you have creeped in via Adobe Acrobat/Reader due to the Java/S vulnerability. A fix has already been released for this. It hijacks your google search results and takes you to weird sites.

I was swinging on the front porch tonight, watching my younger daughter pretend tp impale herself on the picket fence, and I thought, "Gee, I bet a vampire family wouldn't want a picket fence." I also realised I'd never thought of a white picket fence as a row of implements of death.

I think I need sleep.

For me it's a full weekend of rooting against my former neighbors to the west.

Saturday the Wisconsin Badgers (4-0) go to the Metrodome to take on the Minnesota Gophers (3-1) for the annual Border Battle, with the winner taking home "Paul Bunyan's Axe" for the next year. It's usually smash-mouth football and I hope I can catch it on the tube here.

Then this weekend my fantasy football league finds me (life long Green Bay Packer fan) matched up against a Vikings fan. So Sunday I will be cheering on my team against his. And since I have Packer players on my roster and he has Vikings players on his ...

Monday Night Football's macthup of the Green Bay Packers at the Minnesota Vikings may be the deciding factor in our matchup, and will be the culmination of 3 days of rooting against the Vi-Queens and their fans.

I can't wait!

*sigh* I love The Church.

The band, not the institution.
