lip piercing

I am getting my lip pierced some time soon and I have a few questions. Is it hard to eat with a lip piercing? If anyone here has snakebites I'm wondering if getting both those and a middle lip piercing is too much or too uncomfortable in the long run?

Both snake bites and a middle piercing would look stupid. I'm telling you this from seeing people with that piercing complex.

Get one or the other.

A labret is made with the part inside your mouth flat, so it should not be difficult to eat or anything.

I have a friend with all three of the mentioned piercings. I think it looks just fine, as long as she wears a stud in the middle one. Keep in mind that no one will force you to wear anything in all three piercings at once-- if you don't mind a few extra holes in your face, the flexibility could be a nice thing.

However, I feel that restraint is key with piercings. I recommend only one piercing, or (perhaps) snakebites.

I'm thinking just a middle lip piercing will be enough

That'd be the best choice in my oppinion. To my perspective, snakebites look lame.

With the rings they look great but just the studs not so much. Plus I wear lipstick and having to deal with two rings would be too much

Supporting further your decision, I have to say that a single lip piercing is the only non-ear piercing I like.

What about a cute little nose ring or stud?

Well, I'm not saying I would forbid it, but if you are looking for my personal oppinion, I really hate nose piercings.
I like ear piercings because there are several aesthetically pleasing combinations to it (if I ever had a piercing, I would have six equidistant ones in my left ear)
I also like the lip piercing for some reason, although I wouldn't want one or kiss someone with one.
But any other piercings.... bleh.

Actually I just came upon it yesterday and I really think I should get the needle shoved through my lip straight so that I can wear regular studs.

I really like lip piercings, however you might have to only wear permanent lipstick as non permanent lipstick might rub off on the piercing and look a bit messy.

I use very high quality lipstick that doesn't come off much when I eat. I also use lipbalm and face powder as base before I put my lipstick on so it lasts longer. I hope that will help.

It depends on how much lipstick comes off. Also just be ready not to wear any lipstick or lipbalm while the piercing is healing.

NO NO NO
I CAN'T DO THAT
I am the lipstick
The lipstick is me
I'm that dependant. Do I really have to, is there any health risk if I wear lipstick while the piercing is healing?

Yes, It can get infected. It won't heal right, or might not heal at all. All makeup has bacteria in it and you don't want any bacteria to get into a healing wound.

I have my labret pierced and it's not really hard to eat. It is sore in the beginning but you get used to it. I feel weird without it actually. I have put a lip ring in it and I hate it. I cant drink anything or eat. It feels weird and it leaks. I wear chapstick and lipstick so that's a pain in the ass. If you can get used to it go for the lip ring, but a labret ring is better for me. It was more painful than my eyebrows. Just suck on some ice cubes afterwards...

I got a labret last week...

No lipstick plz! For at least five days you need to keep your lips as clean as humanly possible. Plus you really won't want to put lipstick on when the piercing's still new, because it hurts to move your lips much, lol.

I personally would recommend a labret rather than snakebites... It's not too awkward to eat (though I need to be careful not to catch the disk behind my teeth when I bite down, I did that on the second day and it HURT lol!) You'll get used to it pretty quick. Snakebites just look a bit over the top to me, although on some people they look really freakin' good. Labrets work with most people.

i've had my lip piercing for five years and although it was a pain in the ass whilst i was getting used to it, i wouldn't be without it now.
my mate has snakebites, but to be honest, i think they suit more masculine features. but do what you dare, life is too short to worry, whatever decision you come to, my wish to you is that it be the right one!
