HIM's remake of "Wicked Game" is ossum. Other than that I don't really like it. Reminds me of Hegwig...

I like HIM, they excite me... I've seen the latest pictures of him though and, to tell you the truth, I agree, he has seen better nights.

god..HIM have gone downhill since 99..they have totally altered their sound to fit the "hot topic marketing profile"..radio friendly dark pop..with a black clad, castle-loving, eye-liner obsessing..lead singer..Ville...don't get me wrong..i have loyalties to this band..i just think they need to forget american popularity and go back to their darker grittier roots

i know this band since 1997, i have heard all their albums. its good to see gothic rock bands ending up POP bands :P. In US they are fresh, still. Believe me lads, if you were hearing this "oh oh oh love is death and cold as grave" theme for about 8 years you would hate this band.

"dark liiiight(mary x-mas theme)"

I really dunno. I don't like HIM myself... and it would be a very dull  not my thing kind of dislike if it weren't for every thirteen year old wearing their shirts all tight and calling themselves goth. We all were young once (I'll admit to making some poor calls on "goth" bands in my younger years) but MTV calls them goth now, Hot Topic refers to them as goth, even pages I used to frequent refer to them as "goth metal". It is because of that that I cringe when I come upon a heartagram, or any mention of the band.

 I used to like HIM a lot. I know, they are not goth, but I still like them. I'm even going to see them in concert on nov 26....
But it's just not the same as they were before. Yes, whiny-homo-"metal"-death-whatever band, but I just can't let go my love for HIM.

I loved their cover of "Wicked Game" Loved loved loved it.

Got all excited when I heard the new album out. Listened to it. Got really bored.

Thought it must be me, so I listened to it after a few days. Still insufferably boring.

Blah. What a waste of money. That and the black rebel motorcycle club album that just came out has made me leery of picking up any new stuff.

Bleh.

You would be right DeathTrip.

As for HIM, I'll agree with the description that Kali Maxwell gave about them, as they are very much "cute" and not in a good way. To me, HIM is a walking, talking, singing stereotype of this subculture.
Nevermind the musical ability and the singing, and the lyrics were more than enough to turn me off from this band.

All the H.I.M cd's I own were actually brought for me by others & to be honest I like about 5 songs.Especially the cover of 'Don't Fear The Reaper' (or whatever the hell it's called).'Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlights' makes a good coaster though.
