Another sleeping trick that I just remembered is to concentrate on how tired you are, even if you aren't. Let it wash over you and consume you. *snort* k, that sounded silly. Anyway, my cousin told me about that one. It doesn't work terribly well for me, but that's probably because I have a horrible concentration span (except when it comes to art) and a very active mind. I tend to invent situations in which things go wrong...

Qigong (pronounced chi gong) is really effective, too.

Lavender. Make yourself a dream pillow (google) and fill it with dried lavender. That helps me, at least. Also, vanilla and ylang ylang scents help because they make you relax.

I once bought a CD called "Deep Sleep", which is wonderful. I always sleep very deep and wake up feeling more rested than usual when putting that one on (not too loudly, though). Also, try the Sleepbot: http://www.sleepbot.com/ambience/broadcast/

As a note, I've not found the white noise thing to be true - I can always hear the grandfather clock in the living room ticking, which freaks me out. I always have to stop it before going to bed.

I've heard of the whole Lavender thing, but wasn't sure wether or not it worked. It might work for me...but if the sent is too strong I geta sinusy, and conjested.

Sleeping music doesn't help me much. I usually just put on some really loud music, and that actually helps me more.

I agree with you too, white noise either bothers the hell out of me, or creeps me out...

Well thanks again for all the help from everyone.

I get nervous when everything's quiet, and espesally when I have to do Meditation...I always think someone is going to come in the room and like...start laughing histaricly. I'm self conscince(sp?), if you couldn't tell.

P.S. I can never spell conscince...it's just such an annoying word.

Don't do meditation in quiet. I do it almost nightly, sometimes to music, sometimes when my cat's nosing around me. You don't need silence for it.

Lavendar won't stuff you up. It's a very cleansing scent. Rosewood works, too, but is less common.

I only take 1/2 a pill that's why I don't feel as drowsy. It used to make me that way too, but I just cut my pills in 1/2 and I was fine.

I still get all like...just...antsy(sp?). I truthfuly think I might be alittle A.D.H.D. I just really don't like it when it's really calm. I'm also not used to calmness at all, so that might be part of it, but I'm still convised that I'm just alittle A.D.H.D..

It might not, I dunno. I just have odd sinuses. I might try it, I dunno...damn I REALLY need to go to sleep, it's about 2:10. Funny huh?

Hun, I'm more ADHD than anyone I know. During my workday, I'm on 3 forums, myspace, and facebook, as my own personal way of allowing myself distractions so that I can focus on my work. The meditation thing is difficult, but I firmly believe that you're capable.

It might help if you had a CD to lead your meditations... I found this one, and it seems like it's a decent CD. It's not in stock at this site, but I'm sure you can find it somewhere.

Try during the course of the day when you can, burning more energy doing everyday things. Instead of walking, jog. When sitting, move around (twist, chair dance, stretch, air-box), jog at night around the block/up the street and back a few times. Wear yourself out, but DON'T GO TO SLEEP until it is time for you to sleep. Before you go to bed, drink some chamomile tea (if you're not allergic).

A couple of days of that regimen usually helps me get back on schedule after a long vacation, when my sleep patterns go all to hell. Maybe this will help you in a way.

As long as you don't exercise immediately before going to sleep. You don't want to get all "wound up", as my mother used to say. Give it an hour or so before crashing.

Who is she if you don't mind me asking???

And I'm sorry you have yet to find something. Trazadone worked for me. It's really for depression, but it does a crappy job with it, so it's used for sleep because it makes someone REALLY tired.

Korrina, I know where you're at. I promise it'll get better. It's hard to believe that, but it will. I believe you're strong enough to pull through this.

Try eating lettuce. (Ridiculous I know) But I have the same problem and my aunt recommended lettuce. She says it helps relax your nerves.
