A hypothesis is an assumption made so it may be tested for its logical or empirical consequences.

In some cases a theory can be seen as conjecture or a guess, however in scientific terms a theory is a scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena.

I don't believe anyone has a soul. I might believe I am a psychic vampire who will achieve immortality by consuming the emotions of others.

If so, I eat your pity with glee!

P.S. - That is NOT a theory. It might be a supposition, but you're free to debate that if you have nothing more valuable to do with your time.

Guys I have a question...
Is it possible to leave a forum?
I'm registered in many but I've never seen a "leave forum" or "cancel account" option...

Well there isn't much need for one really. Most people just leave said forum and don't go back there.

Yes that's an option but I prefer deleting the account so I don't even stay like a registered member...

You can leave anytime you want. You can even try to contact the admin/mods and ask that your profile be deactivated. Some forums will do that but most will not delete your posts, as they consider it their content once you contribute it.

As a person who acts as an admin on another site, I know that we have a disclaimer that says all contributions become the intellectual property of the site owner. This is not so that the site owner can make a buck or somehow profit from the personal writings of any posters. It is so the whole of the forum content maintains a cohesive and rational dialog.

If a thread is started and one person contributes many posts in the conversation, removal of those posts after the fact can and frequently does render the conversation unintelligible and meaningless. I remember when Xngeula was banned from this site and all her entries (I think it was over 6000 posts) were deleted. Whole threads stopped making sense; you'd read a post that had nothing to do with the previous post and think "Why did they post that?"

It's a little like a communal novel or maybe contributing to a newspaper. I submit an article or editorial to a newspaper; after it's published I would not expect to be able to request a retraction. So I don't post anyting I would worry about later and have no regrets for what I post.

Thanks, Ben Lahnger, but I'm not planning on leaving Gnet. I'm just asking because I want to know just in case I have to live another forum I'm in .

I just read that somebody ported the Kama Sutra into a homebrew application for the Nintendo DS! I was stunned to find such a thing could be desired by anyone, but laughed heartily over this commentary after someone asked if it wouldn't be awkward to access it while having sex:

I think you're supposed to read it before sex...Maybe, or maybe it was created to alienate nerds even more *sigh*.

LMAO!

See, that wouldn't have made a very good movie.

I just don't see people queuing up to see "Edward Snowballhands."

Hell, I heard there was a porno made that was called "Edward Penishands" and that sounded like an awful idea too.

Quick question, how do I link individual posts?

It might depend on what browser you use and what your right-click options are.

In Firefox, right-click on the white number in the upper right of the post and pick "copy link location". Then you can paste that address into the message text like this:

https://www.gothic.net/boards/showpo...postcount=1239

Or you can make it a clickable link like this by using the link button on the advanced editor.

If you use IE there's probably an identical or similar right-click option.

After all no one came back from the dead and told us about it so therefore it can not be a certainty .
it will always remain a mystery.
Some will choose to believe we do have a soul while other will argue still no one will know for sure.

If you decide to leave a place just do it.
why should you care about what will happen to your profile or your account.
The only case where you will have to look into it is when you join a forum and pay monthly or whatever then it's obvious that you do have to respect the procedure to live.
Then again it's a question of common sense!

I just got another e-mail from an account that should be deleted. I keep on trying to limit any of my profiles to just the ones in use and there's another one. It is annoying.

You can try to leave, but it won't work. !~ blah

Anyone ever try Mephedrone? Thoughts? Opinions?

And no, I'm not looking at it as a MDMA replacement either.

My medication makes me sleep a lot which is pretty disruptive as it means I don't get up until late. It's completely throwing my daily life off which sucks. On the positive side, I've lost a few pounds without really trying to which is good since I've put quite a bit of weight on recently.

It's fucking-A. Think of it as MDMA without the need to climb down that bloody horse at the end of the ride. Cheaper too.

Just don't mix it with alcohol intake. It's _pretty_ deadly that way...

Why argue when pure facts tell us there is no soul?

I`ve heard that the rush/high is of an extremely short duration.

Recommended dosage?

No. Wouldn't know.

I'm about ready to go to bed under my four blanket and snuggle myself off to dreamland.
