If that wouldn't eat up too much of your time, I would most certainly be willing to wait. Until then, I can search Wikipedia for a few basics. You can never have to many tactics of self-control, eh?

It's actually pretty simple to draw up, but I'm at work sans programs, so I can't draw it to upload right now.

I like to draw random things. I like to be very abstract. I also like to BLARE my music and make a nice little art project or something. But seeming as I always have my notebook on me, I draw and write when I get angry.

Grab ass? How do you play?

I read somewhere that if pink is an agressive colour...anyone that can back that up?

Here's the illustration I "made". I hope it works.

Basically, the red dots represent places you're going to focus. This is the way I was taught Qigong, and I wasn't taught by any sort of professional teacher, so I'll do the best I can to explain it.

You want to start at the dot that's located just under the bellybutton. You want to imagine a ball of energy hovering over that spot. I'm not very orthodox, sometimes I imagine other things, but I think a ball of energy is the best way to start.

You place the ball of energy on that first spot and take three deep breaths, then you move the ball down to the next spot, which is on your bladder. Take three deep breaths on your bladder. You should probably go pee before you start, because usually this part makes me have to go.

The next parts, in succession:

Your bladder goes to your tail bone, which goes to your lower back. That middle-back dot is actually your solar plexus. That moves to that one big vertebrae on the top of your back just before your neck starts. Then you move it to the crown of your head, and around to your "third eye". The ball of energy then goes to your collarbone, and down to the center of your chest. You take three deep breaths at each point.

The line you are drawing should bisect your body.

I usually go through all of the points 3 times before I go to bed. I also do a specific breath-count, now that I've memorized where all the spots are. I breathe in for 4, hold for 2, and out for 6. It's very calming.

Let me know if this is helpful or if you have any questions! I maybe didn't mention that it's not really necessary to lay in any specific position, but I find it more therapeutic to lay flat on my back.

Shit, I forgot a point. My boyfriend reminded me that between your bladder and your tailbone you focus on the lowest point on your torso.

Sorry for the triple post.

I just did it. It seems to work, whether I'm doing it correctly or it's just the deep breathing. At any rate, Clock, you should try it.

Thanks Demoness.

When I was younger, I used to throw things when I needed to vent. The problem is that I always threw breakable things that belonged to ME, so after losing a lot of my favorite things from smashing them, I decided that there had to be another alternative to channel any frustrations that I felt.

Not everyone can just simply do this, so I'm not saying that this is what you need to do, but in the past 20 years, instead of breaking things, I meditate in my own way... not traditional meditation, but going to a room by myself and "get over" over whatever is bugging the damn crap out of me. It works about 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, I do vent... usually yelling helps. Heh ;}

You know another (kind of lame) way to vent?

Research something till you know it backwards and forwards, and then go argue about it with people.

That actually does not sound lame at all. Debating is great when you know exactly what you're talking about and you know you're absolutely right.

Except that I mostly do it online.

Hence the "lame".
