unmeidestiny: An introduction

I suppose I should introduce myself now and answer these questions.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I currently do not have a job. My hobbies include playing flute and a little guitar (though I admit I'm not very good), playing video games, searching for haunted places, and researching little oddities I come across.

2. Where are you from?
Southern Illinois.

3. Who is your favorite author?
J.R.R. Tolkien.

4. What are your favorite films?
I enjoy horror movies, but due to my current living situation (under a rock) I haven't been exposed to many. I also enjoy documentaries, movies based on real life experiences, and well done comedies.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I don't plan on ever having a wedding, so I've never thought of it.

6. At your funeral?
Hmm, Ganon's piano music from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ended up being my answer for a shuffled play list survey I did once.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
With a bang and a lot of fire.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
I don't want a casket, as I want to be cremated.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
I can't say that I really have one. Maybe my ballroom gown that a friend gave me, though I don't find much occasion to wear it.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Seeing ghosts and believing there were fairies in the flowers in my yard.

11. What's your favorite band?
The Cure. They've helped me through some tough times.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I'm currently in college. My major is in Chemistry, which may soon become Bio-chemistry.

13. Why did you join?
I've always been attracted to the Gothic subculture and have been wanting to know more.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female.

If you'd like to know more, feel free to ask.

You can see ghosts? Can you communicate with the deceased? I've always been fascinated with that.

I've only seen two ghosts in my childhood. The first ghost I saw appeared not long after I moved into this house, and I believe him to be the deceased husband of the woman who we bought the house from. I woke up one night and saw a man looking through my closet, I turned the light on and he disappeared, but when I turned the light off again, he was still there. I never bothered to communicate with him because, being only 7, I was frightened out of my wits. Around two or three years later, I again woke up one night to see a girl who appeared to be writing a note at my desk. I didn't even think of communicating with her either, though afterwords I tried to coax ghosts into my room by leaving offerings of food. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything since, though I do occasionally get 'feelings' about certain places, but those are never good. In retrospect I wish I had tried to hone my ability, but I seemed to have lost it with time.

Welcome to G.net unmeidestiny! You seem like an interesting person. I think it's neat that you like to go to haunted places. It would freak me out to be honest :P

It does freak me out sometimes, but for the most part the places seem really innocent, though that may be due to the fact that I go during the day for the ability to have my pictures turn out.

Where in Southern Illinois? You don't have to answer if you find it too creepy...

Specifically, I live in Salem. Chicago is about a 5 - 6 hour drive. I live about an hour and a half from St. Louis.
