Exclamation How CptSternn Turned America-Bashing Into A Full-Time Hobby

.

Just look at all his threads here and in Spooky News.

His nearly single-minded focus makes one wonder ... did America fondle him in a bad-touch area before he ran away from home?

Again, can you not separate a country and it's people from a government and its policies?

When America invaded Iraq, was it because Americans hated all Iraqis?

Can you not take issue to a foreign policy of a government, like say apartheid in South Africa, and still support the people living there?

Sternn, you're a dork. What makes you think I care if you were referring to the country, the government, the people, the politicians or the rock band. I was talking about your unhealthy obsession with America as opposed to all the other fucked-up countries in the world. There's crap going on all over the place every day, yet your posting of articles, commentary, hand-wringing and complaints seems 4-1 to be about America compared to the rest of the world.

Again, I ask ... did the bad country make you feel dirty and ashamed as you snuck out?

It may be a hobby but until this man proves bashing our fucked country can be a full-fledged PROFESSION, then I remain unimpressed.

I pointed out this out before and I will say again -

I read a few different news sites.

Yah00, Reuters, AP, Irish Times, Irish Independent, The Guardian, Washington Post, New York Times, and of course FARK.

I wake up in the mornings and have a browse of those sites to see what is happening in the world. I just repost the news stories I find to be thread worthy. If I am finding to many that you do not like, then can you really blame me for what the media is saying?

Since the media is only covering things that are actually happening, can they be blamed for writing the articles?

Look, I would love to post a story about corruption in Canada or some other first world nation, but very few pop up. There are always some from third world countries, but sure, if a country has no democracy and is run by dictators, is posting stories about how they act like dictators newsworthy?

I repost things I find disturbing most of the time, or severely hypocritical. Thats usually what drives my posting here. It just happens I am often shocked by what politicians in America attempt to get away with. Again, that is not attacking America as a country, but pointing out discrepancies with politicians in a country and some of their policies.

Thats why America has a free press and freedom of speech, so people can point out issues with politicians and policies, hopefully so that the masses will see any issues that may be there and attempt to fix them.

I mean, if you follow through with your original post and look at my posts here in Politics for example, the threads are about (excluding the ones about the UK and Ireland):

-Rick Santorum, the right-wing conservative who made extremely bigoted anti-gay statements on multiple occasions

-News Corp and their corruption trial

-A post about plutocracy

-A post about how the US government spends more on A/C than on NASA

-The GOP has defunded the consumer protection agency

...and more.

But do you not think those topics are worth discussing? Do they not merit discussion? Are you happy with how those topics are being handled?

To stifle discussion of any topic would mean to censor the free exchange of ideas here.

YES. Which is why AP, Reuters, CNN, BBC News and every other news organization I'm aware of, actually does report on them. Because they ARE news. As are wars, famine, slavery, etc.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be discussed.

Only a few of those stories interest anyone. The conflict in Libya, who cares anymore? Until they start sending in soldiers its not real news and there is no coverage of it on telly anymore.

More on the Norway killer? Again, old news. People starving in Africa? Fighting in the Middle-East? News worth posting about?

I did post multiple articles on the riots and bachmann, so thats two things I thought were worth discussing.

The other stuff just isn't threadworthy IMHO.
