Love metal?

Why are there so many genres of metal?

Welcome aboard, by the way.

Because people felt the need to dice it up into pieces

She probably didn't mean "love metal" like a genre. She probably meant Love Metal, by HIM...which marks her as a N00B.

Welcome anyway Geoluhread. Tell us what you write too. Lots of people here say they write but they never say what.

OR..... just the genre of love metal... you can't tell from one post, but trying classifying someone as a "N00B" before actually knowing the person just makes the label backfire at you

I thought it was just HIMs description of their music. I didn't know it was a genre.

It isn't. I listen to metal, and have never come across it. I may not like all/most forms of metal, but I'm pretty sure I know what they all are.

I can't stand the term "love metal" The two words do not work together. Especially when you put it next to long established genre names...
Doom Metal
Black Metal
Death Metal
Thrash Metal
Gore Metal
Brutal Metal
Viking Metal
Gothic Metal
Industrial Metal
Power Metal
It's like "cuddly genocide." It just doesn't work for me.

I thought that too, but I saw some other bands start to use that tag as well, idk.. I don't like it, but still taste in music doesn't relate anything to the tag "N00B" because music is so subjective was the point I was getting at

Classifying someone as a newbie to gothic happens all the time on Gnet. Have you not been reading the other introductions? In fact, I'd say it's a freaking tradition here--perhaps not a pleasant one, but I was certainly sticking to tradition. If you allude favorably to HIM, Manson or Hot Topic in your introduction you get hazed.

Nah it's not the alluding favourably, it's the linking those things with Goth rock.

They get hazed for being incorrect, not for liking the band/shop at all.

I write poetry... But not in the past two months, due to lack of inspiration...
