Chants of Maledicta's official site
Brazilian electro-goth formed in 1995 by Alexandre Weerth (vocals) and Elaine Cristina (keyboards, rhythmprograming, vocals). In April of 1997, they record their first demo tape containing 5 songs: "Mournfulness", "Spirit Dance", "Industrial Revolution" , "Love Lies Bleeding" and a cover of "Bela Lugosis Dead" from Bauhaus. Elaine moved to Norway from Brazil and the band received several record deal offers. Unfortunately though, the first album of Chants of Maledicta was never recorded due to the fact that the male vocalist (Alexandre Weerth) wasn't interested in going to Europe to record. The band ceased activity in 1999.
