It appears to be gone.

Saya 03-11-2011 02:40 PM

Well! The committee I formed must be ruffling some feathers.

I moved back to VA this week. I gave up my job, my apartment, and my friend in Louisville to get treatment for my heroin addiction.

I just got out of inpatient rehab today. I'm doing day treatment (partial inpatient, 9a-4p) until Monday. After that, 10 weeks of Intensive Out-Patient. I am on suboxone maintenance (16mg/day) indefinitely. I am also in therapy with an awesome LCSW.. so.. yep. Things are getting better. :)

Solumina 03-11-2011 06:13 PM

I'm glad to hear that things are getting better.

I'm going to be completely honest here.
Either I had the greatest oral surgeon to ever live, or everyone is a huge pussy.
This morning, I woke up in NO pain. That's right. I had impacted teeth, and the surgeon had to shave my bone away to get them out. I didn't take my motrin while I was asleep, so when I woke up, it would have been pain not helped by anything the very next morning. And I'm completely fine.

I want to be a dragon when I grow up.

Ben Lahnger 03-15-2011 05:16 AM

I really didn't feel any pain or unpleasant after-effects from having my wisdom teeth out, either. I know I have a higher tolerance for pain than some people. But I had a friend who was pretty tough too, and he went through hell when he had his out. Of course, the roots of one of his wisdom teeth had twisted together, requiring the dentist to get parts out with a hammer and chisel!)

Having a root canal was a different matter. I was glad to have those Tylenol 3's with codeine after that deal.

Watched a woman eat FORTY chicken nuggets, two large boxes of fries, a large milkshake and TWO Mcflurrys in Mcdonalds today. By herself, there was no sharing of all that food. Made me feel sick.

Saya 03-15-2011 10:33 AM

Ugh, my best friend's fiance eats like that all the time. Like, he'll buy a box of frozen chicken nuggest and eat all of them at once. I find it painful to be around him, his breathing is labored and he reeks.

MissCheyenne 03-15-2011 10:35 AM

Made me feel really sick, I really don't know how she could eat all that food. She seriously ate the whole lot in the time it took my little boy to eat his happy meal.

Ben Lahnger 03-15-2011 11:34 AM

Good grief!

Would YOU survive polite society in the Victorian Era?

I would be the picture of politeness, apparently. But I would hang myself.

I too would be the picture of politeness apparently. We can be fine ladies together Saya!

.

28 workers who stayed behind to prevent the Chernobyl disaster from getting worse died within 3 months.

The 50 workers who have volunteered to stay behind at the earthquake/tsunami-stricken Fukushima nuclear facility in Japan know they may be exposed to lethal levels of radiation.

Some acts of courage go unnoticed ... these shouldn't.

.

Saya 03-15-2011 04:01 PM

Speaking of which, would anyone be able to direct me to a news site that is being rational about the nuclear plant, and not fear mongering that this is going to blow the entire planet up?

I hate that being entertaining is more important than being informative.

Ben Lahnger 03-15-2011 04:05 PM

Hang on ... I saw a good 8 minute clip from Rachel Maddow. I'm looking for it.

MissCheyenne 03-15-2011 04:09 PM

I nearly cried last night trying to explain the tragedy in Japan to my little boy. He's autistic so it's hard to get him to understand how things affect people other than himself but he said we should send his old toys to the boys and girls who won't have any anymore now that 'the gappy places broke and knocked over their houses'.

Saya 03-15-2011 04:10 PM

Awwwwww :(

Ben Lahnger 03-15-2011 04:16 PM

Okay, here's the clip from Monday's Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC:

Also, this page from Gizmodo using information from multiple resources from MIT to Popular Science gives you a pretty solid breakdown of what we know so far.

I am also a picture of politeness, we should get together for tea and talk about music and flower aranging.

Also MC that is adorable about your little one, sometimes kids can really touch your heart, especially when they see helping other people as just being not only the right thing to do but as being logical as well.

What a difference steroids would make.

It was something totally unexpected of him, as I said in my post, getting him understand how other people feel and are affected by things is no easy feat. He came home asking questions because they had been talking a little about it at school, so I showed him the newspapers and things on the internet to try to get him to understand what he could reasonably comprehend. I told him we'd donate some money to the charities that are helping the people in Japan as soon as I get paid as it just isn't practical to send his toys to them even though it was a really nice thought.

Also, yes we should do tea. We can discuss the latest fashions and how wonderful music is.

Saya 03-15-2011 04:54 PM

I lost points for reciting punny poetry. Can we recite punny poetry? I also want to kiss girls without points deducted.

MissCheyenne 03-15-2011 04:55 PM

I lost points for choosing the wrong outfit for the dinner party. Other than that, I was golden. I am a lady through and through.
