Silver Screen Shower Scene (Remix) - Felix Da Housecat

Pits, don't kill me for listening to mindless club music every once in a while. :D

pitseleh 04-23-2006 06:33 AM

Are you kidding? I listen to Felix da Housecat myself! :D And Tiga, Miss Kittin, Vitalic, Fischerspooner... Love that stuff.

Now I'm enjoying some more obscure screamo, though. Sadly, like many bands of this type, these guys are no longer around:

"Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus
What I would give to find a Bauhaus album at FYE. I've found Diary of Dreams, Switchblade Symphony, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Nick Cave, and Siouxsie before, but I've had to download all the Bauhaus I currently have. I don't understand why I can't find any good old Peter Murphy in stores. Are these albums rare or something?

You come in here and make your FIRST post promoting a band. If you would have read the rules of this board you wouldn't have done that. THAT alone makes me not want to listen to the band you are whoring.

DEAD KENNEDYS - MOON OVER MARIN

rockandrose 04-23-2006 01:12 PM

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Under the bridge

Adolescents - Welcome To Reality

Rikk Agnew, who played guitar in early Christian Death, played guitar for them so some of the songs sound kind of deathrock. Very cool band.

Carcass `Tools of the Trade`

Carcass were one of the best grindcore bands to come out of the U.K, who were famous for their anatomically correct song titles e.g `Cadaveric Incubator of Endoparasites` or `Frenzied Dystruncation` and `Vomited Anal Tract` courtesy of a medical dictionary.

"One of the standout grindcore/death metal bands of the end of 80's, Carcass gained notoriety for their liberal use of medical terms in their lyrics and song titles (in fact, it was reported by reliable sources that the band members were med students, which wasn't true). Necroticism and Heartwork are most frequently considered the band's best work, delivering brutal death metal with a high degree of musicianship. The band ended on a down note, however, with the release of Swansong -- the move to a more conventional metal sound". BNR Metal pages

Did you know that Carcass appeared in Red Dwarf in `Timeslides` playing Listers band `Smeg and the Heads`. :)

My husband just got me a copy of Bauhaus's live performance at Berlin, at least I think it's Berlin.

Deathstars - Termination Bliss

I absolutely love this band, although I can't find anyone else who likes them, or has even heard of them actually. The singer has the most intense voice. :)

Give Up The Ghost - Calculation Nation

The hardcore thread made me dig up these guys, who are fucking great. Formerly known as American Nightmare, which they had to change because some shitty band sued them.

That being said, I am currently in the process of going through this thread from the beginning. I can't believe how things have changed. Seems every other post is EPS, and then there are all the long-absent members like Secretboy, Ice, Spraeg (props for starting this thread, wherever you are, man!)... Oh, the memories. I'm getting hella sentimental over here.

I'm on pg.24 right now. I don't know if I'll be able to get through it all today, but I'll give it a shot.

If I dig up some juicy dirt, I'll let you know, haha!

Draconysius 04-24-2006 11:11 AM

Thanks to WolfMoon, I'm listening to the best of my Christian Death collection. I agree wholeheartedly with you, Wolfy; I adore his voice! He's sooo dreamy!

BEOWULF: Ah, Carcass. Blasts beats, medical encyclopaedia lyrics, clinical-sounding difficult-to-remember songtitles. They're my boys. Besides "Tools Of The Trade", "Heartwork" & their 1st album both kick ass!! In fact, I'll look for the Earache website now. They might have some MP3s of their classic Death Metal shit.
