As you pointed out no one needs to believe in the Constitution 'in order to believe those things are wrong', especially when we remember that the constitution only details the fucking division of powers. They only included civil rights and liberties as an addendum we now know as the Bill of Rights. It wasn't part of the Constitution. Americans were taxed less than a fourth of what the British themselves paid as taxes, and taxation only began after the war with France. They were being forced to pay a tax without representation,which the Colonists didn't pay,and because they didn't pay, it resulted in a state of Anarchy (In the form of a War with the English Crown).
And after that state of Anarchy (Because the Outcome of the War was in doubt for awhile),they decided that the best Government is hardly any Government at all but laws for the people to interpret as they see fit. But not to force their Interpretation on others. And you get the U.S. Constitution. Which you seem to hate. |
