Usually, an intellectual possesses a mature, honed and seasoned mind. Even if you've never claimed to be mature, though, if you want people to respect you as smart you probably should provide them a reason to do so, such as making an intelligent remark or ceasing to resort so quickly to being whiny and vulgar.
