Don't worry pretty, we're there for you when you feel afraid;)

Circle V 02-24-2006 06:19 PM

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

darkangel29 02-24-2006 06:27 PM

Circle.. holy deep...

This is why I love ya man!

I'm scared of never finding someone to grow old with...

Circle V 02-24-2006 06:33 PM

Sadly, I can't attribute that quote to myself. It's from the late Frank Herbert's book Dune.

I feel the same way, darkangel.

Godslayer Jillian 02-24-2006 06:41 PM

What I'm most afraid is of losing my intellect.
It kinda sounds too stuck up (or however it's said), but they've always told me how smart am I, and I just can't imagine why would anyone like me if I was not smart.

darkangel29 02-24-2006 06:41 PM

It's a beautiful quote. Very Deep... *copies it down*

I've always been scared that my insecurities about relationships will scare away that "special one." Ya know... I ask questions, tend to go to quickly so we can get to that "happily ever after" Ending...

Cut out the "happily ever after and you get the Ending of my relationships... I must say that I am scared of them... I fear for my mind, body and soul when I am in one, as this love feeling tends to overtake it all and sweep me into a world of castles and fairytale endings... oh how I wish and dare to dream.

My Habits...

My habit is not a physical one but a mental one... I was the fat kid in elementary and haven't really come to terms with the way I was and the way I am now... Insecurity is a habit... it's an addicting habit... disgusting really.

When my hair is down, I tend to put it behind my ears... I don't know why... perhaps to show off my face. I don't know...

I still hug my pillow at night as if it was the only floating piece of furniture in the ocean of my room.

I still take vitamins...

I still procratinate...

Eternal Silence 02-24-2006 07:06 PM

I'm not scared of anything.

Demonista_Ravenesque 02-24-2006 07:37 PM

I have a habit of playing and poking my facial piercings.

I have a habit of hiding under the bed when my parents invite idiots over.

I have a habit of talking to strangers.

I am a bit of a kleptomaniac.

Jane13 02-24-2006 07:44 PM

Eyes, I totally have all the same stuff about dark rooms, sleeping, and stuffed animals.. but I still have my purple bunny named peter ^^

My big thing is dolls... I was at my aunt's house last summer, and my little cousins had left a babydoll on top of my suitcase.... I was so afraid that I had to get my mom to take it off so I could put on my jammies 0.0

*edit*
Oh! And I also sit under my desk or make wierd noises if a get bored at school.

eyesofatragedy 02-24-2006 07:51 PM

Oooo....that reminds me Jane.....my mom collects (or used to) porcelien dolls for my sister and I. She had tons of them in our rooms. Now that wasn't even really the bad part.

One year my mom gave her a clown doll. Now this thing was downright demonic looking. It was bald with purple triangles painted on its head and the ugliest looking grin on it's face. Well one night my uncle decided to play a prank on me. I was at their apartment watching of all movies "Child's Play" in their room when my uncle comes up behind me, puts the dolls little arm on my shoulder and says in a deep scary voice, "I'm coming to get you Nicky."

I screamed and ran into the living room to where my parents where and began to cry. I think that's why I started to fear my dolls.

Godslayer Jillian 02-24-2006 08:02 PM

Ok, maybe it's a little too late to for Eternal Silence to read this, but it's still a wonderful lesson to everyone:

Only idiots fear nothing. No fear shows a person is too stupid to know there are things far worse than death, which deserve our fear.
It's great if you have no pathological fears, but having no fear at all is a statement devoid of reason.
I myself would fear my enemies. But seeing as I have none, I yearn for one.

Reject_Bunnies 02-24-2006 08:13 PM

Sort of like the:'Only thing to fear,is fear itself'?

And I agree that dolls can be downright spooky sometimes, has anyone heard of "Robert the Doll" from Key West,Florida?
This story has freaked me out for ages now-more information can be found Here

It's just like a man with a million questions is much more interesting than a man with a million answers

Circle V 02-24-2006 09:05 PM

True. I just wanted to show both extremes, so I neglected to mention the cream-filled middle that you discussed.

Godslayer Jillian 02-24-2006 09:10 PM

I'm not sure why, but reading what you just said made me crave a Twinkie so much:D

darkangel29 02-24-2006 09:10 PM

Yay! Cute people posting about creamy centres!

I fear an outrageous customer or being robbed when I am at the register...

Godslayer Jillian 02-24-2006 09:12 PM

You know, I think if every person in the world had a Twinkie in one hand, all the problems of the world would be solved:D

Circle V 02-24-2006 09:18 PM

Dammit. I've never even had a proper Twinkie and I'm hungry for one.

If everyone had a Twinkie in their hands, they'd be unable to drive and speak on cell-phones at the same time.... or do any "one handed typing" without substantial difficulty and/or creativity. Do you really want to do that to us?

Tall One In Black 02-24-2006 09:21 PM

Twinkies are good, but Zebra Cakes are better! :)

I'm afraid of many things, but I think the worst one is fearing that I won't be strong enough.

I'm not the nervous type, though... I think the only thing that could cause me to panic would be heights. I'm terribly acrophobic. It's more than just a fear; I get disoriented and can't tell up from down. It's terrifying. I believe I have inherited my mother's vertigo. :(

People can't that anyway (not successfully).

There's no limit on what people will try to do while driving, though - drink coffee, put on makeup, flip through the radio stations, smoke a cigarette, talk on the phone... all at the same time, and all while attempting to drive. Now THAT is something to fear!

Godslayer Jillian 02-24-2006 09:25 PM

Well, it would be cool, wouldn't it? :D
Look at how awesome a conversation with a complete stranger with a Twinkie in his had would be:

-hi stranger
-hi stranger
-hey, you have a Twinkie in your hand like me
-doesn't everyone
*chuckles*
-hey, do you talk by cell phone?
-and stop holding my Twinkie? Hell no!
-so what do you think about the war in Iraq?
-it should be stopped, not only are there innocent people being killed, but they're innocent people with Twinkies

now a terrorist conversation:
-what building should we bomb this time?
-are you kidding? and destroy all those Twinkies??

now a crazy guy in the streets:
-Believe in the Twinkie!!!

See? Twinkies are the answer!
Hail the Twinkie:D

WHAA! Poor eyes *hugs* My parents wouldn't even let me watch horror films untill I was 10... and the only one they let me see then was "The Mummy"... I was too good at scaring myself, I guess.

eyesofatragedy 02-24-2006 10:07 PM

*Hugs Jane

Thanks hon.

Yeah, unfortunately I was one of those kids that cried for the parents late in the night cause they were scared. I would see scary movies and then get scared.

The worse part about it is I grew up liking scary movies and still watch no matter how scared I now I'm going to get later.

I'm such a glutton for punishment.

athilla nemrie 02-24-2006 11:47 PM

I'm scared that people will see me in my weakest and most awkward moments. Being the eldest, my family and other people always think of me as a very strong person. So if I'm caught crying in public, it would ruin me.

GeishaGirl 02-25-2006 01:13 AM

Weird ritual: Whenever I'm finished petting my cat, I have to pat their back exactly three times to let them know I'm done. If I do more or less, I feel a compulsive need to start the petting over, just so I can finish it the correct way, with three even pats.

Heebie Jeebies: Whenever I wake up at night, I avoid looking around my room. I'm so certain I'll see something lurking or crouching somewhere and I think if I don't know it's there, it will go away. This comes from reading "Geralds Game" by Stephen King.

I also HATE having to walk from my dark room into a dark hallway. I always imagine that the giant spider monster thing from the end of Poltergeist is waiting outside the door.

Fuck you for posting that shit. I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight! FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Demonista_Ravenesque 02-25-2006 02:06 AM

I have a really odd habit of being perfectly happy then locking myself in the bedroom and playing all my favourite songs crying to them, and not actually feeling sad, but feeling passion for the music :D

The most childish habit of mine is dipping my pizza crusts into the cola.

I swear it's yummy!

Star of Blight 02-25-2006 02:15 AM

I don't have any stuffed animal type things anymore, so most nights I cling to a pillow like it was a lifeline.

I'm still somewhat afraid of the dark. Keeping a window open so the glow of a streetlight, or leaving something like a TV or computer monitor on are a must for at night.

I still have a real issue with needles too (figure that, a pieced up diabetic being afraid of needles).

Sanctus Dei 02-25-2006 02:43 AM

I want a Robert doll.

Hmm fears... As a youngen I had the typical things, under the bed/ closet/ dark/ etc... fears. But specifically, I was scared of the gremlins, ET and that creepy little troll from the final story of 'Cats Eye'
by Steven King. Now though??

I often speed by Mack Trucks, I refuse to drive anywhere near them...
I'm scared of losing my mother and my kitty (she's like 11 not)
Wow, I honestly can't think of anything else.

Habits/Childhood Carry overs:
I bite my nails
I become devilishly sacrastic for no reason.
[whisper] I cry when mustafa dies too.. [/whisper]
I'm cocky
I argue to win, even when half of my facts are bullshit.
I 'watch' T.V. just for the company.

My friend's oldest brother was, too. She said when he was little he was sitting on the couch watching tv when he heard a flock of birds outside. He screamed "GREMLINS!" and hid under the blanket :p

Saya 02-25-2006 04:10 PM

I bet I'll have a nightmare tonight about Robert.

I have a terrible fear of insects, particularly those with more than six legs, like earwigs. I forgot about it until the other night I was reading and I noticed an earwig crawled onto the page. I screamed , threw the book down and saw the earwig crawl under my bed, and I don't know where he went after that. I keep my sketchbook near the bed and I haven't touched it since because I'm afraid I'll open it up and it'll be there. Also I'll think I see it out of the corner of my eye or feel it crawl on my skin, but its never there. I'm living in paranoia.

eyesofatragedy 02-25-2006 05:24 PM

Ick. I don't know what an earwig is but I do fear the dreaded cockroach. Especially the ones that FLY. Bugs that disgusting should not be allowed to fly. Or swim for that matter. You have no idea how gross it is to go to your apartment to have a nice long bath to fine this huge swollen cockroach sitting on your loofah! I screamed like the little bitch I am and made the matience man come get rid of it. Apparently CPS had been working on the lines and accidentally busted a water line which allowed the roach to crawl right in.

Unfuckingbelievably gross.

I hate crickets cause they jump so high. I don't like bugs that jump. And silverfish......oh god gross......

Thanks Circle for the info.

Though the second link gave a little levity but that first now makes me want to not eat peaches or any soft fruit. Dammit, I rather liked peaches.

Bleh...

Saya 02-25-2006 05:55 PM

Those pictures gross me out. Everyone here calls the kind of bug that scared me an earwig, but they lack the pinchers on the back of them. I wonder what they really are, then?

Ewww, a cockroach? We don't get them here, but once I saw them in an insectorium (I know, I know, I was just asking for trouble), and they let people hold them. I had the willies for hours after I left.

winged_dreams 02-25-2006 05:57 PM

Still scared of drowning due to an incident that happened when I was a young child. Just recently, with the help of my fiance, was I able to finally put my head underwater a couple of times.
