Also, again, classifying and sub-classifying music after the fact is rather silly IMHO.
It's like classifying art. Post-modern impressionism versus say early pointlilism. At the time they were just modern-art.
Much of the EBM and other sub-genres people are going on about here at the time were just 'goth'. Those of us who grew up listening to these bands and watching them play live saw them at goth clubs.
Now a decade or so later people want to pigeon hole them in little categories for some reason and say they aren't 'goth', but your dismissing the fact these bands played goth clubs back when goth was a larger culture, on goth labels.
This stems from record labels trying to compare their new shite acts to classic artists.
