Wow, EPS, that story just broke my heart.

*sniffle* Hell, I'm still crying.

I cannot, and never will abide that kind of behaviour, but you are a very, VERY brave woman. I don't know what I'd do if I were in your shoes, but I pray to whatever Diety watches over me that I would have the courage to do as you did.

You have my deepest respect.

gay marriage

I think gay marriage is a great thing. Straight couples are really good at fucking up their marriage but gays who are lifetime partners don't have the chance? Makes no sense to me. I say let them marry and of coarse let them adopt. Sometimes a gay household is more stable and functional than a straight one. Myself, I'm Bi as is My fiancee, And I love him to death for that. He understands what I've gone through beacuse he's gone through it as well. Some people think it's sick to be bi or gay, I think they're sick for being so closed minded and ignorant. If you're in love with whom ever you're with and you're happy then that should be all that matters. And all of those narrow minded people need to mind they're own bussiness and quit focussing on what everyone else is doing behind closed doors and definantly start focussing on themselves because they're obviously the ones with the problems.

Jane13 04-16-2005 09:36 AM

wow... anyone who reads this thread and doesn't think that equal rights for gays/bisexual people is an issue of civil rights has something wrong with them... seriously wrong. X, I love you for standing up for yourself, and for standing tall and taking unnecasary and cruel abuse... our school had a day of silence thing as well, and I wore the "Silence" sticker conciously, with my heart for my gay and bisexual friends that have to deal with that kind of barbarism... no one really bothered us though.... probably because half the school didn't know what the day was about, which is upsetting >.< EPS... I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am for your friend that was killed out of such hate, and you were brave to help that artist.

Yes!

Pee in his eye and blind him!Or just kick him in the head......a few hundred times.

skoteinh 04-18-2005 01:43 AM

Xinguela darling, how are you today?

I am sorry that I haven't responded to this earlier, I have read the posts over and over again, and I am truly sorry for what happened.

It's just that this whole situation seems so alien to me. I cannot believe such behaviour would be allowed, in schools no less.

Here, homosexuality is not widely accepted, but I have not heard of such butality before. People mostly gossip, or avoid homosexuals, but beat them up? Come on! What you and EPS said made me sorry that I am a human being. I have many homosexual friends and no-one has EVER told me that they or anyone they know have been victims of such hatred.

People look at them strangely and whisper, or avoid letting them apartments and stuff like that. I am not saying that this is acceptable behavior, or that it's not hurting them inside, but at least they are not afraid.

Xng, I can only say: let the inner bruises disappear as quickly as the ones on your skin. You are a brave and intelligent woman and I admire you for taking a stand. Keep it up. People like you make me believe that we can change things for the better.

*Hugs*

MrMaelstrom 04-18-2005 02:12 AM

Is that true Al? Did you really get the fucker?

There is a God.... er... there's some kind of conflict in that sentence, but hey... (so much for the hippy in me today)

darkangel81 04-18-2005 03:25 AM

I am pro gay marriage. This not because i am a gay man but i think that everybody should be able to do what they want unless they hurt others in the process.

creepylittleshit 04-18-2005 04:49 AM

I read that someone thinks most gay parents are better than straight parents. I have two mommies and the one who gave birth to me is a lunatic. I'm in no way gay bashing so please do not miscostrue my words. It s not the person's sexuality that matters.

Planewalker 04-18-2005 06:20 AM

Speaking of Gay Marriages............. Has anyone seen my Gypsy. Oh, where has my little latin love gone to. He said he would call.............he....He .....HE SAID HE LOVED ME. Oh, woe is me. If you are seeing this my love...............Please know that.....that....tttttthhthth......aaaaahhh hhahahahaha... (I weep)......blahhhhhhhhhhhhh....... PPPPPlease knnnnow......that I may have gotten a little out of hand with this one.....but your still my biatch!

:Note to viewer: Planeswalker and Gypsy are not homosexual .................................................. ..... It takes a bridgemaker a thousand bridges to become an engineer, but you suck one dick......

Jane13 04-18-2005 04:24 PM

Planwalker! It seems like forever since you OR Gypsy posted... it's nice to see your words again!

Thanks for the kind words you guys..

Sorry I am so late responding..

I like to think that any one of us would have done the same thing in my position.

The Hate Crime laws have helped somewhat, but the burden to prove "intent" have made many of these cases rather diffucult to prosecute. So I don't know how truly useful they really are.

On another note, Even though I know why, it still fucking pisses me off that crimes against women such as **** are NOT considered Hate Crimes.

Women are brutalized daily simply because they are women, and the sentences these bastards receive are laughable.

Just doesn't seem fair, but then again, not much does these days..

Hugs..

How the hell...?

black_fairy 04-23-2005 07:22 AM

Returning back to the question of this topic, I think gay marriage must have been legalized so much earlier.

In Spain we changed the government last year, and the new president and ministers approved the law of gay marriage some time ago, in spite of the complaints of the opposition. I think it's a very good idea, because we all must have the same rights.. Why a gay/lesbian cannot marry with the person he/she loves?? This it's nonsense; in my point of view, our sexual orientation it's cultural, because all of us are bisexual.

Ps. Sorry for grammar/vocabulary mistakes, if there're so many.

Considering your corner of the globe I could see the inherent flaw with Cherokee Nation proliferation, but for those of us from the South East (particularly Georgia on through Oklahoma) it’s pretty goddamn common. If you add in to the equation that they (the Cherokee Nation) were viewed as an advanced culture, having churches and schools being farmers and cattle ranchers, perfecting their own alphabet, their own government, then you can begin to see where the lines begin to run together.

Until Andrew Jackson, that is.

So I don’t have a problem with so many Cherokees. Not enough of the fuckers around, if you ask me. Be Cherokee, and be proud. That’s my motto.

But what that has to do with the founding leader of The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints and where they both currently are…I haven’t a clue. Maybe you could ask Paul Revere and The Raiders? If they don't know you could ask the now (current) First Presidency?

It's a joke, babe.Cuz most people in TX that are 1/1000 indian claim the Cherokee nation. And I've even heard of some people from down here claim that they're related to Pocahontas.Ah, but wasn't she from up north?D'oh!

AlKilyu 04-23-2005 09:33 PM

Re: Thoughts on Gay Marriage.

As an Anarchist, I oppose marriage. It's a form of control. Historically, it placed one party [the husband] in the dominant role & the other party in the submissive role [the wife]. However, in other marriages, the wife takes on the dominant role. This could be seen as "either/or" to most people [as in "either good or bad"--that's open to debate, but either way, having one party dominate another is still a control mechanism]. In addition, marriage warrants state & church intervention. Personally, I feel the state & the church shouldn't interfere with serious love relationships or decide whether to make a serious love relationship between 2 people binding. On the other hand, if 2 homosexual people feel that they want to take their love relationship to the next level by making it legal jumping the broom, fine. And those same homosexual couples have every right to adopt children as straight couples do. They would make better parents, too. So on this issue, I'm on middle-ground.

WolfMoon 06-17-2005 04:45 PM

Traditionally, marriage may have been used to control one or another of the sexes. I can honestly say that mine is a partnership not based on the dominance of one sex, but on co-operation and compromise. To have a good marriage you need to have good communication, period.

I think that sexual preference has no bearing(sp?) on whether someone is a good parent or not. There are good parents out there that are both gay and straight. The vast majority of parents out their happen to be straight, so statistically, the majority of bad/good parents are straight. It's not fair, but it's the way things are. I think that a gay couple is just as capable as a straight couple to be good parents, there just happens to be far fewer of them.

livingdeadgirlz 09-05-2005 04:57 PM

wow

well if u ask me i think gay marriges are okay because you can do whateva the hell u wanna do because non one can stop u but also going gay is just totally not right

dreamydancer 09-05-2005 05:45 PM

You're worse than me. Honestly, did you even glance at the other posts on 'Gay Marriage?' You should have noticed that not many were slaughtering the English language. Go read the playground rules in 'For the Newbies' before you make an illiterate ass out of yourself!!!

And who the hell are you to tell people that being gay is wrong?!! You're the no typing skills DUMBASS!!!

edible_eye 09-05-2005 05:57 PM

Spazik 09-06-2005 10:52 AM

Theres no logical arguement for why gay marraige shouldn't be allowed. "To protect the sanctity of Holy Matrimony" my ass. Holy matrimony lost it's sanctity when they put "Who wants to Marry a Multi Millionare" on TV. "If you allow gays to marry, people will want to marry a goat next!". How do you make that jump? Gays are PEOPLE, goats are ANIMALS. Durp-a durp-a fucking durp. "God hates fags!" Who gives a flying shit? I don't force my worship of the Great Flying Spaghetti Monster on you, don't force your stupid ass Christianity on me. Keep your religion out of our government and be happy that your slimy business already gets out of paying property tax.

FenrisQueen 09-08-2005 09:02 PM

oh please, xngie. The last thing I remember is you kidnapping Drgnlovers boobies...and then leaving me out of it!!

mortiis 09-08-2005 09:56 PM

honestly

come on im mean gay people should be able to do anything they want like get married or **** each other. i know in america the vilifacation of gays is country wide but most americans who have serious problems with gays have serious problems with '''******s'' and marry their cousins and live in a trailer park earning 50 bucks a week to feed their 13 kids and two wives........... of course i dont have much against yokels or hicks but let the gays live life how they want to oh and spazik is entirely right with the whole god hates fags thing

wikked 09-13-2005 03:20 PM

Aww... too many comments in here from people putting it all on the Christians. Contrary to popular belief, true Christians are not like that. WE actually believe in *gasp* CHRIST.

He taught people to be loving and compassionate. He befriended prostitutes and thieves. I can hardly imagine Jesus saying, "Well, that whore over there who destroyed twenty marriages is just great! However, the homosexual over there who has been kind to others and ever faithful to his significant other... now, he's just awful!"

Those so~called "Christians" just like to spit out words like "God" and "Bible" to validate their ignorance. Please don't lump the real Christians in with them, because they're an insult to all we believe in.

As for gay couples adopting? I still don't understand the mentality that they shouldn't. It's as annoying to me as the people who are against interracial adoptions. There are too many children who need to be raised in nuturing homes, and too many nurturing homes that WANT to take in those children... but can't just because of the ignorance of others.
