i'm a goth (maybe), and i wear tight jeans. dark blue, blue, light blue and i was wondering, does that make me not a goth? i mean i do have black jeans, but i mostly wear the blues. so am i considered a goth.

i mean i wear what i feel comfritable (i can't spell worth a damn but i don't care.) in. is that such a crime?

A stupid question.

No one knows you better than yourself. You're either a goth or a non goth. You should be able to answer it yourself, unless YOU don't even know yourself.

The clothes you wear is not the only thing that contributes to being a goth.

just because you wear jeans doesnt not make you goth thats just a typical sterio type gothic though i will admit to calling people posers when they try to dress like a goth but arent gothic is more about the culture and the music it does tend to somehow include fashion but just because you dont do your make up dark and wear all black ( not all gothic wear black anyway) doesnt not make you a gothic

bloody_kisses 10-24-2005 07:57 PM

you see there are poser "gawths" and my friends and i call them and we call them this because they run around going "im gothic cause i wear black and hate the world" that just fucking pisses me off cause thats not at all what gothic is! GRR!

Fallenfromgrace 10-31-2005 07:14 PM

The clothes you wear shud reflect an image of yourself soo u can take for instance someone used the e.g of a rapper if u listen to rap music u will eventually start to look like a rapper. soo i guess if u listen 2 rock ull start buyin goth stuff and if u like it u will grow and grow and u will b a full goth and im not saying clothes make u goth but in my e.g the dude is listnin 2 rock soo he has the natural attitude and lifestyle of a gorh as well

UUUmmm... i think a lot of people will want to rip me to shreds after i say this. But, Goths do care what people think. If they didn't, they wouldn't dress Goth. Do keep that in mind.

Just my opinion that that everyone is going to laugh at again

SweetDarkThea 11-03-2005 02:00 AM

Do you really need to stress so much about what you are wearing? I mean important- sure. However, try to just like "do what feels right." Be creative! Take it and run with it.

And EPS you look hot! I haven't seen you forever! Still going to school?

Fallenfromgrace 11-04-2005 05:59 AM

well my post will obviously not apply to everyone but people do like to look like what they love to represent

I don't really care so much WHAT people think... but I care IF they think. What I mean is that I like to shake people out of their stupor and make them use their brains. Sometimes that's accomplished with literature or art; I do it with clothing.

Many people probably assume that I'm angry or lazy or not too bright; maybe I live in the basement and listen to satanic music. But when I interact with those people, they are surprised to learn that I'm polite, intelligent, and mature. I have made them question the stereotype. I have made them think.

That's not the univeral truth you think it is. I don't dress goth because I care what people think. I dress goth because it's what I like and what I feel comfortable in. I buy pajama pants with bats because I like them - no one is ever going to see me in them. I wear striped socks under my boots to work; again, no one is going to see them. I would wear black even if I moved to a ranch in the middle of Montana with no one around but the cattle.

Wearing a pastel button-down shirt with khaki pants and brown loafers would make me horribly uncomfortable, even if no one was around. (Hell, I can hardly type it without retching.) Why? Because it just does not feel right. It feels like I'm wearing someone else's skin. It has nothing to do with caring about what people think. It's about my freedom to wear what I like.

Very true about Australia...Well more specifically Sydney. You either have the gangsta, the metro-fag, or the bogan of the bloke-types. Goth guys are a rarity...probably a good thing. Most "goth" guys I know here are skin-goths, and attention seeking pieces of shit who even I (and my mates) pay out...

As for me? Cross goth with a bogan and you have me...
