Clockwork,

There are two ENTJs. Myself and DarkWinter.
Very interesting statistical breakdown. What would be interesting is to see the results after a year and after a retest. I have taken the MBTI roughly half a dozen times since 2000 and my results vary each time.

Marshalling my troops,

Gah, you snuck in a post while I was tabulating T_T As I can no longer edit the post, I'll include you with the next batch, so fear not.

And yeah, I'd like to get this test like on the hundreds scale, but that's a little far-fetched for a forum...

(ALLITERATION!!!)

Clockwork,

It may happen. I recall one of my professors at my undergraduate institution had the whole class take the test and mapped the results. Some very interesting results. If my memory was better I would recount the details, but that was nearly a decade ago. I do recall that many of the "jocks" were extroverts but were more feeling than thinking. I interpreted that to mean an ability act on instinct instead of applying it as a "dumb jock" label.
I think it would be fun to do such a study with an entire league of a particular sport. Looking for themes in the group as a whole then by position (such as quarterback, linebacker, et cetera).

Wondering if the NFL would buy the idea,

Matt

I think that is an interesting thing to consider. Each position uses a different mode of thinking, which is essentially what a personality is... it's possible that that is a major contributor to what position they end up playing. Well, except for physical capability, but that's more of an exception that sports have. This could still be applied to many other fields.

Clockwork,

Very true. Such a study amongst the law enforcement community would probably yield some interesting results. There is a noticeable difference between the demeanor of K-9 handlers, motorcycle units, and detention center officers. I can only imagine what their nature would reveal.

Wishing I had the influence to implement a study at my agency,

Matt

Im an ENFP

LaBelleDameSansMerci 09-08-2007 10:36 PM

I'm still INFP.

I think what would be REALLY cool would be to get all the average %s for how strongly people are one way or the other on each of the scales. Maybe I'll do that for those who have posted their info... Come back for an update :P:P

LaBelleDameSansMerci 09-08-2007 11:35 PM

Ok. After much spreadsheeting, I've come up with the averages, medians, mins and maxes for all the letters.
Averages are:
I:59.69% E:40.32%
N:58.53% S:41.47%
T:51.73% F:48.14%
P:52.24% J:47.77%
N-S has the highest difference, P-J the lowest.

Medians:
I:59.69% E:40.32%
N:58.53% S:41.47%
F:50% T:50%
P:55.56% J:44.44%
Same ones have highest or lowest differences as the averages.

Min vs. Max 1 - These are the people who had the highest difference in each category.
I:85.19% E:14.81%
N:72.22% S:27.78%
F:63.89% T:35.9%
P:70.59% J:29.41%

Min vs Max 2: This is the flip of the last one.
E:70.59% I:29.41%
S:60% N:40%
T:69.7% F:30.3%
J:77.42% P:22.58%
