Ok ive been asked by a very close friend of mine to take a look at this chat forum, ive dealt very closely with alot of complex cases regarding this type of problem. each case is different and can not be compaired to another with reasoning. NIGHTFANG i would like to know your academic qualifications that tells not only myself but others on here that you are qualified to make such judgements and comments as you so have. if anyone should require any help with a problem you are more than welcome to email my personal office at *****@***.*** and i am more than happy to help or answer questions concerning any problems that you feel you may have with self harm. Sorrow, I think what people are trying to get across is that:

1. This is a public forum, and that if you really didn't want replies to your rant, that there are much more easier ways to assure no replies than to post on here.

2. That while cutting isn't always a cry for attention, the fact that you cut a word implies that perhaps it was a cry for attention (which very probably could have been an unconscious one at that).

3. People won't leave you alone about it. Guidance counselors, gym teachers, and parents have a JOB to care about you, and while you may not want them getting involved or whatever, the fact is that even if you and your parents weren't on talking terms or even hated each other's guts, they would STILL care about you because you ARE their daughter.

The reason for the less-than-empathic posts? People here don't like new people coming on and crying out for attention/acceptance. Now you may have not intended that, but the fact is that was what it appeared to be doing, and appearances matter alot. Continuing the argument with everyone also helps to cement in people's mind that it was nothing more than a cry for attention, so I'd just suggest perhaps dropping it and moving on?

Just some thoughts.

Actually he did do something. He made his first post in here, off topic, instead of the introduction thread. Besides, you don't know (unless he's you and/or you're the friend he mentioned) any more that he is who he says he is than any of us. Blindly assuming someone's telling the truth on a forum without knowing the person is irresponsible at best.

He *does* need to give me proof. Forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical when a "British Psychologist" conveniently drops in, says something incomprehensible about nightfang, and gives an email address whose parent page has nothing to do with psychology.
