That was... My point.

And they're new school EBM. (bleh)

VNV Nation = futurepop. They coined the term, so I'd say they're the prime example of it.

Doesn't sound a thing like EBM to me. But then again, I can't be bothered knowing better anymore. Electronica is electronica.

The DJs at ConFuzion are always spinning weird shit like harsh electro, hellectro, harsh EBM, and a little bit of industrial. I can't be bothered trying to figure it out anymore. There's bigger fish to fry. ^____^

maggot 10-21-2007 10:18 AM

They could be futurepop. In all honesty, I never payed them too much attention; They're kind of gross. I listened to something like 5 songs and sloughed them off.

Harsh Electro, Hellectro, Harsh EBM, and Aggrotek are all the same thing btw :O
it annoys me, too. xD

Graveyard.Crow 10-21-2007 12:16 PM

Kind of feel the same way, though there is the occasional song I like.

They also regret coining the term. Regardless, I still consider them Future pop/EBM. Definately NOT industrial.

As long as they're awesome, who cares what genre are they ?

maggot 10-22-2007 04:43 PM

Who said they're awesome?

I think they're gross.

Interesting how you guys deal with some issues and then buried it with a lot of no sense about music lol.

Well is great to see a group of hardasses goth arround... but just to point a very obvius thing, goth is about accesories... clothes, voices, rythms, drawings, pics, people... and is a very big paradox, you know, we are all diferent... fight for that, but dress all a like lol... humanity...

If someone copies your style means you have some kind of "power" over them, love kind of provoke it, also admiration etc... so in a very goth way... that doesnt mean we have some level of responsability about the people we influence?

Graveyard.Crow 10-23-2007 04:01 PM

True. I would still hate to be copied.

cyberdark 10-23-2007 04:18 PM

You hate to loose: control, uniqueness, effort to be different, copyrights?

maggot 10-24-2007 12:53 PM

I wasn't aware goths hated conformity until that episode of South Park. No one was.

No I just hate it when some girl decides to sew a dress that I myself designed just because she liked the idea. Or when someone wants to completely rip off my ideas for decorating clothing items. It peeves me, and it isn't flattering. Saying "hay I really like what you made" is flattering.

So...this is dead now? seems pretty beat to death. Let's sum it up

Ok I'm done.
problem solved.

They have goths on south park...My brother watches it everynight and I never noticed them...

Rosie 11-17-2007 08:44 PM

Let her dress how she wants but let her know what a nasty misconception she's going to spread.
