Holy Twinkie! Are you serious?
It's like never had known the Super Mario Bros. song |

Nightwish are a great band, I'm not as obsessed anymore as I used to be but they're still quite high on the list of favourites. Too many good songs to choose the best though. |
Crimson Tears, I reccomend you to get a hold of the songs Creek Mary's Blood, Planet Hell, and Nemo. I think you'll like Nightwish.

Hi, I totally agree with you She_Is_My_Sin, I would definatly reccomend to anyone who is new to Nightwish, is the `Highest Hopes` (best of Nightwish compilation) Album... |
I totally love 'Away' & 'Beauty of the Beast'. But overall my personal favourite album is 'Wishmaster'.
|
Oh, and there's Dead Boy's Poem and their version of The Phantom of the Opera.
|
I love Dead Boy's Poem! I thought Angel's Fall First was beautiful but much of their first album was awful.
|
Nightwish, in my opinion... ummm... *reads page again* you're not going to like this, but I despise Nightwish. The muscians might be good, but never let it show properly. The former vocalist was a total disaster, I seriously cannot listen to those tracks in which she sings because it makes me want to hit something. Her vocal technique is _bad_ at the best. I won't fall into ranting here, though. Instead, to those of you who do enjoy this kind of music, may I suggest a few other bands like Within Temptation, Leave's Eyes and Todesbonden...
|
[quote=wunky]i've seen them live. they were good, but i honestly expected them to be a bit better. having said that, i saw them in september 2005, about four weeks before they kicked out tarja so maybe that was just inter-band tensions filtering through.[quote]
I went to the same concert, but i my opinion all the chemistry was there & was an exceptional concert (maybe it was all an act I'm not sure). But then again it was the only time I've seen them live. I thought the live performances of tracks such a 'Wishmaster' & 'Nemo' were much better than on CD. Or perhaps I just felt like that because I was all hyped up. Not sure. The only moment of disapointment i got was when I collapsed & was taken to the ambulance during 'Ghost Love Score' because that is my absolute favourite song. Meh, they managed to entertain me throughout the night & my friends were kind enough to scoop me up some of the confetti from 'Wish I Had An Angel' which I have in a box on my desk :) |

And, yeah, I think Within Temptation has a better vocalist (Leave's Eyes too, but I just can't stand the music for some reason) but Tarja is trained for an operatic voice. I just love the opera:D |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *falling off a 50 story building*
...without Tarja, there is no NightWish! :( |
Bah everyone says that but in reality if there was no Tuomas, Nightwish would be well & truely dead. True they aren't going to be the same, but it's best to keep your mind open about what's coming up, it could be better than expected!

Okay, I found some stuff, those songs you suggested. They're okay, I don't think I'd go out and buy anything of theirs though.

Well said, She_Is_My_Sin, I totally agree with you there !!! :) |
It's a pet hate. It was disgusting the amount of death threats Tuomas recieved via the guest book as soon as the letter came out to the world. I immediately spouted my rage at all those who wanted to commit vile acts of violence upon the man who is the backbone of that band. Fair enough it was a shock & she did have a good voice, but at the end of the day, she didn't write the music or songs nor did she start the band, at the end of the day she was just the lead singer with the tremendous voice.

She_Is_My_Sin, When did Tuomas get these death threats? , that is really out of order that these people were sending threatening messages in the guest book, like you said Tuomas is the founding member and backbone of the band. I read in an article somewhere that it was a really difficult desicion for the band to make. (I think this was in Metal Hammer or Terrorizer, I`m not sure) Did you ever read the interview with Tarja`s manager/husband Marcello on Tarja`s website, about her departure from the band? Its quite interesting !!! |
They appeared after the letter was released & then it sort of melted into pining for Tarja.
I read a bit but he went on & i got bored. I heard that Tarja has put some un-released tracks on her site, I'll have to investigate. |

That was`nt that question and answer thingy was it, by any chance ? Your right, that did get boring !!! :D |
Yeah it was all about profits from the new book & whatever, I read a few questions & realised it was all the same
|
She_Is_My_Sin, perhaps you're right...it doesnt matter who replaces Tarja, in the end...its all the other components that make the band as stellar as it is...and people sending death threats are retards, to say the least...sad sad sad...
oh well, back to burning the heads off barbie dolls for me! *but just so you know, i'm still sad that she's gone! |
I'm very passionate when it comes to protecting Tuomas Holopainen *blush*
|
She_is_my_sin,
I was reading that interview, we were talking about, and it indicated that the band were not very close, as friends. Yet, did`nt Tuomas know Tarja from school ??? I was wondering what your impression was of it all ? |
