But, on topic - I've been called "witch" (by a little kid, it was kinda cute) "fag", "transvestite", but never a satanist. My best tip for such occasions would be to have a couple of quick smartass retorts on the ready, if you are able. Using the argument that priests also wear black does not qualify as smartass, as its logic is clearly flawed.

Anyway, I don't get comments like that anymore. I rarely wear spikes, make-up or any other stereotypically goth signifiers except for my shiny Doc Marten's. I go for the classically understated, vaguely militaristic early-80's post-punk style. Like, more Joy Division than Alien Sex Fiend.

First of All....the Reason i Type so Bad...is because...i type in a hurry...second of all...im not use to typeing i havent had a computer long and...not use to post boards...to tell you the truth....this is my first membership to a post board site...i came to make friends not enemies...you probally are older then me if so Good for you..if not oh well then...but dont go makeing fun of people you dont even know.

Just take your time typing. I prefer whole words when compared to bad grammar and spelling which can sometimes make things hard to read.

Why do you type in a hurry? If you don't have the time to post then you oughtn't. I know that sounds unkind, but its true. I am assuming you are human and therefore must use your wisdom to only participate in as many things as you have time to.
Also, don't take things so sensatively. They are trying to help you, really. No one takes a person who can't type seriously. Learning to type isn't that hard. You just need to practice correctly. Posting on a message can be that (if you type correctly, again). Or try transcribing your favorite lyrics...
They do know you, or at least the stereotype of people who ask simular questions and type similarily. And its true, many stereotypes come from truth.

You are new so I am not about to flame you, also because there is a another person on this board who doesn't just misspell, they commit every offense to the written word and they never get called on the carpet about it so why should you?

HOWEVER (and know that my spelling at times makes Webster flip around his coffin a few times a week) unless one's ass is on fire or they are typing at gunpoint, I do not see how lack of time plays an issue. I'd recommend that if you DO have something to add and would like to, and are short on time, that you maybe type it out but wait until you can come back and check it real quick before hitting 'Submit'.

Which led me to believe he thought I was also a cross-dresser...

The oddest comment I ever had on my makeup was one day when I had on really dark eyeshadow and someone asked me if I was going to see Rocky Horror. (Which I wasn't, because it wasn't showing... I do like Rocky Horror, though.)

I also had someone tell me outright that I looked like a crossdresser. I like to look rather androgynous sometimes, so I took it as a compliment.

At least the Rocky Horror comment shows the person's not a complete idiot. Kind of a witty wink, I guess.
