Now? Nearly all of my music as I go through and relabel it file by file because music.msn.com is an evil corporate whore who just slapped my music player like she was takin' over her street corner...

Consequently a great many of my albums went wonky to the power of 1,000,000,000,000,000 ad infinitum...

Later? The sound of the gears of my sleep deprived and addled mind grinding together trying to come up with endings to pieces I have put off entirely too long... without aid from caffine or other "performance enhancing drugs"...

Waaaaaaay After? The slow dissolution of my mind into the viscous ether of sleep as I collapse on my rack... Oblivious to the war and world around me...

Listening

Driving home today, 91x was playing this really great set of dark music. Someone called in to find out who the first band was (I wanted to know, too), and they were called "Dead Can Dance" (I think). It might have been The Dead Can't Dance, I dunno. Anyway, they used really nice synthesizer mixed with haunting acoustic instruments. Can anyone tell me about this band? The vocalist was reminiscent of Jim Morrison without alcohol.

Uhh...

Yeah, I'm no longer drunk, but I'm grooving out to this new local band called...

*drumroll*

HATEBEAK!!!

Oh,man.
The hilarity.

They are a death-metal band with a PARROT as their LEAD SINGER...

Oh, man.

I'm going to give you some quotes about them:

"SWEET CHRIST, HOW I LOVE HATEBEAK, THE DEATH METAL BAND WITH A PARROT ON LEAD VOCALS."

"Critics agree, The Aquarius Records new-arrivals list called Hatebeak 'furious and blasting death metal.' The 'evil squawks' are 'completely and stupidly brilliant.'"

EDIT: WARNING. THEY SUCK. HORRIFICALLY. THEY SHOULD DIE, BUT POLLY SHOULD LIVE AND TAKE OVER THE WORLD. THE HUMANS SUCK IN THIS BAND. RUN AND HIDE!

Be honest now-you were just lip-synching to Jewel and you loved it.

The song changed, dumbass.

You totally joined in, for the "tearing me, tearing me, you're tearing me apart" part, btw.

billy joel - "a matter of trust"

Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start
And they may not want it to end
But it will it's just a question of when
I've lived long enough to have learned
The closer you get to the fire the more you get burned
But that won't happen to us
Because it's always been a matter of trust

I know you're an emotional girl
It took a lot for you to not lose your faith in this world
I can't offer you proof
But you're going to face a moment of truth
It's hard when you're always afraid
You just recover when another belief is betrayed
So break my heart if you must
It's a matter of trust

You can't go the distance
With too much resistance
I know you have doubts
But for God's sake don't shut me out

This time you've got nothing to lose
You can take it, you can leave it, whatever you choose
I won't hold back anything
And I'll walk away a fool or a king
Some love is just a lie of the mind
It's make believe until its only a matter of time
And some might have learned to adjust
But then it never was a matter of trust

I'm sure you're aware, love,
We've both had our share of believing too long
When the whole situation was wrong

Some love is just a lie of the soul
A constant battle for the ultimate state of control
After you've heard lie upon lie
There can hardly be a question of why
Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start

But that can't happen to us
Because it's always been a matter of trust

ah.....the piano man never lets me down.......

Interesting side note... Video Killed the Radio Star was the first Music Video to be played on MTV...

And Now we are listening to various Machine Sounds on Random (i.e. Songs like 'March of the Fuckheads' by NIN, 'Vater Unser' by Combichrist, etc.)

For Clarity of Vision Within the Machine...
