Anyone who thinks this chick is funny should be raeped to death
.......... and thrown into a live volcano to end their miserable existence in fiery, thrashing agony.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2ATcainiaHg Oh, she's so edgy and non-conformist, she says all the things we're not supposed to! Newsflash bitch: feigning idiocy isn't as funny or as dark as hearing real-life morons say shocking things, which most of us can do any time we want. Your humor is unimaginative, unfunny, and entirely redundant. My friend thought she was pretty funny. I killed him with a spoon and ate his eyes out of the sockets like egg-cups, then I took a hammer and finished off the rest of his family. This lapse in judgment must not pass to the next generation. |
I generally hate Sarah Silverman, but for some reason you gave us a clip that's actually funny.
|
Agreed. But her torture should be slow and painful, and her tongue cut out as a lesson to all who may follow in her footsteps.
|
I was actually thinking "Sarah Silverman" when I saw this heading.
Jesus is still magic. |
I kinda like Sarah Silverman. Her comedy is certainly funnier than your posts.
|
Funny and oddly before I even opened this thread [when I had just read the thread title] I automatically thought about Sarah Silverman and I wanted to crack up when I opened this thread and saw the name "Sarah Silverman." xD
I have never found her funny. Ever. Every time I've seen her on TV I wanted to shoot her and her non-humorous wisecracks in the face. |
Ugh. She's awful.
|
I love Sarah Silverman! And I tend to hate female comics. I actually find her to be very original and not pretentious when compared to most comics. I never really concidered her edgy or 'unconventional'. I like her because her comedy doesn't revolve around "MEN ARE LIKE THIS BUT WE'RE LIKE THIS!" the way most female comedians are. Or loud like Wanda Sykes (God I hate Wanda). She's just zany. Her show on comedy central is awesome. Can't get enough of her. I actually have had Jesus is Magic on DVD for years. She's adorable.

LOL. Are you trying to be 'edgy'? :p |
She's okay. Not the funniest comidian I've seen, but not the worst.

She's not funny...

And neither are you...

You fail as hard as I do, Necro.

Duane, why do you hate yourself?

Every time Matt Damon would come on the show they'd be out of time and he'd get pissed off. XD |
I generally hated her songs but she wasn't the worst comedian I've never heard of until now. She's certainly not edgy or controversial really, she just knows how to recycle the crude into what seems like less crude.

I hate her because I got high once and her tv show still wasn't funny.
|
I like it when critics try to be funny in their critiques on comedians and fall flat on their faces. "The only thing funny about this performance was the squeaky voice and horrible choice in the accompanying house wine. Fwuh huh huh *slurping sounds*. Not even the imbiding of sense dulling chemicals seem to help me understand the premise of these jokes."

There's only one thing that she did that doesn't make my eyeballs itch, and that would be her appearance in a two-part episode of Star Trek: Voyager. She's actually not that bad at acting when she's not trying to be an idiot.
Unfortunately, everything else I've seen from her is just pure crap. "Behold as I lick my dog's bung-hole! I'm the new Tom Green!" |
Indeed. There is no room for such silliness in comedy.
|
Sarah: "Good morning lady"
Old Lady: "Oh Sarah! Seems you're always coming and going" Sarah: "Well that's because you're always hanging around outside my place. If you lived in my toilet you'd probably think all I do is shit and piss all day! Byebye" Old Lady: >:O That's either funny or you're stupid. So what do you all think about Kids in the Hall? |

I strongly dislike Sarah Silverman as well. Whenever I come across her show on Comedy Central I'll try to watch a few minutes of it to hear a joke or punchline, but each time I am left feeling ill. It seems that her material revolves around low grade shit and fart jokes, which I haven't been able to tolerate since I was 13.
Does anyone know if her stand-up is actually good? I mean..she is a real comedian right? I've only ever really seen her on her show or on the edge of other famous people's spotlight. |

Maybe Sarah isn't your cup of tea, but she's a great comedian. Low brow, but very well delivered. She's more like Ren and Stimpy. Crude and unusual on the outside while still making valid points on pop culture and philosophy at the same time. It's kind of funny. You try to put her down for being so empty and vacant, when its really yourself that is having trouble digging deeper than what is plainly presented to you. It's called subtlety. Like the episode where she starts smoking pot and believes she's having great ideas while high so she voice mails herself with her ideas so she can pull them off when she sobers up. Clearly putting down the idea that drugs make people creative. Or the dog licking episode. Obviously, this episode is pointing out how people will horn in on other people's business and project false motives on to others in order to feel better about themselves. But no. All you see is a woman licking a dog's ass. In a way, people like YOU are the punchline. |

I've only got one prerequisite for comedy, and it has nothing to do with whether or not it contains fart jokes: I just like it funny. Quote:

And the problem with yours was that I'm perfectly capable of enjoying childish humor, on the proviso that it's actually funny. Did you not get that my defense consisted of reflecting your own unfounded assumption back at you, at which point you yourself denounced it as flawed?
Also, I don't believe you. You're probably going to tell me you don't care 'cause you don't have to justify yourself to me blah blah, with much puffing out of your chest - but we both know that's a lie, since you just felt the need to inform me that you also like intelligent comedy. ;) And I'm not hostile. I'm just a self-righteous fascist. |
I would never claim being too big to justify myself. Sarah Silverman is hysterical. I'll leave it at "You're just jealous of her" as that's just as good as any argument you've presented.

Bahahahaha, I never was accused of having a bad sense of humour or needed deep and intellectual comedy to make me laugh. I was high as a kite when I first saw her show. When I'm high saying "tricycle pants" to me will make me split a side open. Thats just a testament to how bad she is.
|
I hate Sarah Silverman, her voice gives me a headache.
|
I'd totally do her, but it would have to be a hatefuck.
|
Sometimes she's funny, most of the time it's one of those blank stare moments. If I was drunk though she'd be amazing.
|
Big surprise - I come back after several months, and one of the first threads I read is Apathy being a judgmental asshole.
I've missed you, you self-righteous prick. :D Oh, and I'd never heard of Sarah Silverman until now, so I lookedher up on youtube. She didn't seem THAT bad - some of it was mediocre, but a couple of bits were quite amusing. I only watched about 3 clips though. |

How's tricks - are you staying around? It's awesome to see you, I was starting to think you'd crawled up Shane MacGowan's ass and died or something. We missed you, JCC's been pining away. As for Sarah Silverman - it's ALL mediocre, as far as I've seen. Either there's a goldmine of hilarious material which comes as a reward for those who persevere and look for it, or you were stoned. If you were actually amused I'm willing to bet you were smoking when you watched. |

Shane MacGowan was on TV earlier, a video of him performing Fairytale In New York. I remembered when you said that you wanted to fuck him and a part of me died inside. It was a pretty considerable chunk of me, too.

I don't hate her, but Sarah Silverman does not strike me as exceptionally funny. She has a sense of humour, I'll give her that. But she doesn't have those sort of jokes that make you laugh out loud until your sides hurt.
I noticed her interview with Jonathon Ross was very awkward and most of her jokes didn't go down well with the audiance, and when she featured on a panel show (the name escapes me) she seemed a bit out of her depth. My point is that, though I've seen worse comedians, she is extremely over hyped. |
