What does your room look like?

I was just up in my room admiring its messiness, and I wonder what everyone's room looked like.

Post pictures or don't, but please feed my curiosity.

korinna5555 04-24-2009 06:47 PM

Mine is white, and kind of boring. I'll get some current pictures up shortly.

The room I had at my dad's was grey and black, with white trim and doors. I loved it.. (the horse thing is wallpaper from the previous theme) http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...Picture001.jpg

Anima_Severem 04-24-2009 08:14 PM

It looks like a high school biology project gone sentient.

Solumina 04-24-2009 08:52 PM

We had an older thread like this if you want to go look it up, I think it was sometime last summer and pretty much all I remember was that Honeythorn has an awesome room

RozzVanian 04-24-2009 08:59 PM

I actually tried searching for a similar thread, but the search engine wasn't too helpful and brought up mostly unrelated threads. Sorry for creating a double-thread. Perhaps we can resurrect the old thread? I'm just too lazy...

Solumina 04-24-2009 09:21 PM

No worries, it was an old thread I just wanted to mention is so that you could better satisfy your curiosity, odd that a search isn't pulling anything up.

the-nihilist 04-24-2009 10:16 PM

My room has four walls that are made out of dry wall and painted white. There's a carpet on the floor and a light on the ceiling. Pretty cool, eh?

Solumina 04-25-2009 11:21 AM

My room was originally intended to be an arts and craft room for my mother (when my parents were designing the house they didn't think that they would ever have children so Erik got the guest bedroom and I got the art room) so the space is a bit odd for a bedroom but I have great lighting and views so I don't really mind. Also I have a very high ceiling but there are two beams that cross at about where a normal ceiling would be, one of which holds my ceiling fan, the other goes right above my bed (I'll let your minds process that as they will).

Anarasha 04-25-2009 11:25 AM

Mine is an old hotel room(dorm, don't ask) and it's messy like hell :P Kinda like a maze, with lots of agressive dust bunnies biting your feet.

IBreatheJoeyJordison 05-02-2009 10:09 PM

The wall is yellow. o.0
But there's a story behind it.
I painted it yellow in the fifth grade because I was obssessed with the guy.
I had a major crush on him and his favorite color was yellow.
When I got overe him I was going to paint black over it, but my mom wouldn't let me, so I just drew all over it and covered it up with band posters.

Saya 05-02-2009 10:47 PM

My room is pretty boring, I basically just treat it like a storage room, its way too tiny for all the crap that I have so there's not much room to walk around in, basically I'm just in there for when I get changed and sleep. I'll eventually give some things I don't need away and rearrange it so I have more space, I'd like to get a bunny soon and I'd like to give it the run of the room when I'm not home and he can't go out into the living room.

Pineapple_Juice 05-02-2009 11:07 PM

Well.
I USED to have a sweet room. And before that it was even sweeter. But now I live in my parents' guest room so it's themed just like the rest of the house, which means there's palm trees everywhere.
I fucking hate palm trees.

^ her room is fuckin' awesome. You all should be jealous.

SiouxsiePernova 05-02-2009 11:52 PM

I have some exquisite black lacy curtains hanging in my window, but I will need to install some blinds or drape a block-out curtain behind them. I can post a picture of my room once I have cleaned up the frightful mess!

honeythorn 05-03-2009 03:13 AM

Like the room of a faintly pretentious bastard.. but with added fish and shiny-ness. Apart from the aquarium my bed is my favourite piece of furniture, as I paid for it with my own earnings. Love it.

Honeythorn, I envy your room's awesomeness. I think I'll have to move under your bed.

My room looks like shit.

honeythorn 05-03-2009 06:44 AM

I wonder how many people are going to come and live in my room this time? Last time we had a thread like this, the count got to about 5 or something haha! There is only one person on this site who'd be allowed IN the bed, but he no longer posts alas. So I get it all to myself *dances* I wouldn't mind a pretty thing to lie at the end though... hmmm.....

psyches_reflection 05-03-2009 02:56 PM

My room is full of boxes, 'cos I'm only living here for six months and didn't see the sense in unpacking everything. It's a kind of practical laziness.

It's magnolia, though judging by some of the chipped bits it was once painted a delightful phlegm colour, and I have a cheap creaky bed. There's a small pile of artficial flower parts from my latest art project lying around and a stack of unread books. It's not too hot or too bright which suits me just fine :)

Learing Cordelia 05-03-2009 03:17 PM

I have a fairly plain room. Just a bed and computer with books and sewing stuff sacked everywhere.

Beneath the Shadows 05-03-2009 03:20 PM

Five walls, panted off-white. Angled ceiling that about 7 feet up on one side and about 12 feet high on the other (guessing at the actual heights), painted the same crappy color. Ugly beige carpet that's heavily stained thanks to my kids, my sisters-in-law, and, in lesser part, myself and my wife. Crappy Ikea furniture. Dust. Books, DVDs, CDs, and video games. Beds. Windows. Doors. Computer and a desk to go with it.

i love ikea - you can sometimes get some great stuff there - like giant wall stickers of dark ornate frames.

i also have asylum white walls - but i covered them in cheap black and purple fabric (ikea bed linen, actually) and it makes them look great. also have some black lace going around the ceiling...and i should probably think of taking my gothmas tree down now...

Well, Ikea does have some nice stuff. I just don't have any of it.

I'm only really ever home to sleep and eat, so my room looks like a mess. I may post pics when I get round to it.

Only picture I can really find of my room right noiw. I'll take some later.

badteccy 05-12-2009 01:44 PM

Yellow walls, bamboo shades, awesome artsy yellow, white, blue, whatever bedspread, tan wooden furniture, a flat screen TV, a dark, very full and wooded bookcase, a tree painting I did and this Jazz woodcute thing. A whie curtain with this awesome big tree on it as my closet "door".
HOW GOTH, RITE???

NachtSorcier 05-12-2009 02:16 PM

Steel gray walls and ceiling, beige carpet, black curtains, black iron bed frame, and lots and lots of clutter. Before I can do anything else with it I need to get the carpet stretched and cut. I plan on getting a throw rug that will cover most of the ugly beige.

Count me in!

Delkaetre 05-12-2009 02:30 PM

A mess. A tiny, squalid, mess. I don't have enough space for anything- two fur coats, two leather trench coats, a green suede frock coat, a black frock coat, a silver frock coat... no hanging space at all, especially when I need to hang my grey suit and my work stuff and my shirts and waistcoats. All flat surfaces are occupied with books, papers, masks, gloves, glass, various cards, unorthodox dolls, more papers, more books, bubble wrap... And the bed and computer chair are covered in the clothing that doesn't fit in or on the wardrobe- corsetry, coats, shirts, t-shirts, four pairs of black skinny jeans (five now the buttonless set have a button again), pvc, underwear, blouses....

The walls are a vile magnolia, a great corner of the room is taken up by the hot water tank, and the bed, desk, drawers and wardrobe are all *very* carefully arranged in order to fit in at all. There are posters on the walls- La Mucha, Siouxie, Voltaire(signed), Bowie in the Labyrinth, Abney Park (signed). Unfortunately, I can't put up my limited edition The Mission: The Final Chapter poster, because it's a lovely print and will need framing and glass.

honeythorn 05-12-2009 02:53 PM

Woo I have 3! I've tidied my room since those pictures, it's bloody immaculate. The dusty unused TV has gone and I actually now have space for some of my larger crystals to come out and glitter ^^

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...horn/stuff.jpg

I wanted to set up my 3 gallon steampunk shrimp tank on the bedside table but mother has banned me >:( So the crystals are there instead.

Delk - Are you allowed to put up shelving or anything? Perhaps hooks on the walls for the coats and whatnot? And I don't know if you have one already, but you can get a hook rack that hangs/hooks onto the top of the door while still allowing you to shut it. We have one here in the spare room . Might be useful for coats and long garments maybe?

Opteron_Man 05-16-2009 10:29 PM

My room is crammed with a computer setup on a board that is on two big floor model speakers as a makeshift desk. Stereo amp/tuner/tapedeck, piles of clothes, some clean or dirty, bed, table and dresser. And *points* more junk stratigically placed around. Oh, and coffee cups too hehe! Electric heater. My boots and sandles, and depending if I am about to go to sleep, my AFO braces are cast onto the floor in a untidy heap. lol! I may take a picture of my room for fun.

That is a cool looking room!

ZyklonB 05-26-2009 06:52 PM

My room? Ok.

Used to sort of look like this

Now it looks like http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...g?t=1243388533

That's with the Futon up though.

Tam Li Hua 05-27-2009 01:29 PM

I have a house, and it's usually cluttered with random crap.

Surprise, surprise.

Tam Li Hua 05-27-2009 01:30 PM

Honeythorn, I envy your bed!! *steals*

Pastamancer 05-27-2009 04:10 PM

Honeythorn, that is the most amazing room I have ever seen. You've inspired me to clean up my room. My first goal will be to find something to fix my bed frame with.

Komakino 05-27-2009 09:07 PM

ZyklonB, Your room's a mess! Interesting before and after photos hahah!

Cicero 05-27-2009 09:18 PM

Bat Brains and I have a whole house that's being consumed by random shit. I am too fucking untidy and disorganised, and being a hoarder that likes to make stuff doesn't help that. I can't throw anything away that I may find a use for in future creations.

So yeah, best description for our most frequently used living spaces would be post-apocalyptic.

I do keep a clean kitchen though.

Well good for you haha! Errr...mine would be the opposite of your's though.

Pastamancer 05-27-2009 10:00 PM

A clean kitchen is a must. I do tend to get flour in odd places but otherwise it is clean.

Komakino 05-27-2009 10:11 PM

I should start cleaning then o_-

Yeah my room is tiny so there tends to be stuff all around. I don't even have a closet to put my stuff in, so there's a cabinet thing to the left of the photos that you can't really see that has lots of my clothes. Actually it's supposed to be a bookcase, but it works. And it holds other random stuff.

Yay for fellow untidy hoarders!

Solumina 05-28-2009 12:28 AM

Jake is one of you hoarding types and I'm more of the "if you can find a place for it then it can stay but otherwise it goes" kind of a person and no, the floor does not count as an acceptable place, neither do chairs, my desk, or the kitchen counter (unless it is some sort of kitchen item then an exception can be made). Thankfully the new place has much more storage space so there will be less of an issue, but I have a feeling he will manage to more than fill that up within the first two months.

SiouxsiePernova 05-28-2009 08:30 AM

I am most definitely a hoarder, and I seem to clutter surfaces unnecessarily. I have tried to become more a more organised person, but I keep relapsing.

honeythorn 05-28-2009 09:07 AM

I try my best not to hoard, but sooner or later I have to find a box to put hoarded items in and shove it under the bed if I can't find some way to display it. Much like Cicero, I tend to hoard things I reckon I'll use to make something else. The crystals are an exception to that, but I do have somewhere to display some of the larger ones now the TV is gone.

Still Jack 05-29-2009 06:17 AM

I'll take a pic of my room as soon as oggy has come to pick up his engine which I'm looking after at the moment. 5.0 l V12 from a Toyota limo I think.

Pineapple_Juice 05-29-2009 05:22 PM

New room, same crap, but I like the vaulted ceiling I have now. Planning on moving in with the BF asap and then our studio will be awesome.
