So let's talk about England's kick ass 80's thrash/punk/crust!

The only bands I really like there are Vice Squad, Discharge, Amebix and occasionally The Exploited.
Chaos UK are meant to be good but I've never listened to them.
My mum used to live with them so that's where I know about them.
They worth a listen?

They're an anarcho band that come from where I live.
They're fucking amazing live.

I'm in love with Exploited, Discharge, Broken Bones, and I also really like Amebix and Chaos UK

Since Charged GBH were active during the 80's I think they kind of deserve an honorary mention. 'Cos they're awesome!!11!!!!

UK Decay, the Exploited and Discharge kick ass.

They started out as a Discharge/GBH style punk band in 1983, but during this period (1985) incorporated more thrash, good stuff!

Yeah I know about The Varukers.
Their singer sings for Discharge now.

I am ashamed to say I know little about Punk. But I clicked these and I actually did enjoy them quite a lot.

Nothing wrong with that, I'm in the same boat, but hey I'm learning. Man, it makes me sad to think about what I thought punk was a year ago...

I still don't get why people ask why I don't like ENT?

To each their own, but I love them guys. One of the first grind/crust bands I ever listened to.

I'm not really into grind.
I like bands such as Antischism, Antisect, Nausea, Selfish and Tragedy though.
Not really sure what they fit into exactly.

That was an awesome set. The first vid reminded me of the late Showcase Theatre. I miss it. :snif:

I was gonna see Flux at the Feeding Of The 5000 but we got tickets for the day before instead.
Ended up seeing Conflict and The Disrupters instead.

I don't really like Conflict, but they were fucking amazing live.

Along with The Disrupters there's another band called Contempt who are kinda local to me.
Same sorta anarcho/UK82.
You'd like them.

He sounds DRASTICALLY different in one song on Unfinished Business

I think he generally sounds drastically different when singing.

I'm hopefully seeing Amebix.

I saw the UK Subs last night and I'm now deaf.

And I'm seeing G.B.H the last day of my exams.

He likes the music aspect of punk, more than the lyrics (which was kinda the point, but whatever).

^ This is true. I just love the genres a lot. But I do love the lyrics and the ideals of crust, it just fits me.

This thread is not about you loving the genres. This thread is about you loving that people know you know about these genres.

You really weren't looking for people to know more about crust or thrash so that they would show you more bands. This thread is just so you can pet your own ego by namedropping as many bands as possible. It's probably the reason not many people have posted here.
