What I want to buy.

I really, really love gothic l0lita. And I want this dress :(http://www.annahousefashion.com/015-1129.jpg

Solumina 08-24-2009 05:04 PM

Its cute but the fabric looks like it isn't the best quality you could most likely make it yourself and not only save a good deal of money but end up with a much better product.

Lolly PopMuzik 08-24-2009 05:42 PM

Bleagh...I can see how some of EGL (sweet, goth, punk, sailor, classic, etc.) can be cute but a lot of it can be just too cutesy, excessive and Sparklypoo (10 points if you get that) for my taste.

HavelockV 08-24-2009 06:33 PM

The design is rather charming, but I concur with Ms. Solumina regarding the quality of the material. Perhaps, if you are sewingly-challenged, you could still purchase this dress and do simple modifications and additions of trim and other decorations to give it that extra flare and make it more your own.

Lord Whiskerton 08-24-2009 07:02 PM

Is this store, Anna House, in New York City?

Pineapple_Juice 08-25-2009 01:11 AM

To clarify, is this a thread specifically devoted to you wanting to buy that dress, or is this a thread for others to list what they want to buy as well?

Malice In Wonderland 08-25-2009 04:27 AM

It's not tatty enough.
Buy it and set fire to it.

And for the sake of giving this thread (slightly) more point.

I really want some fucking platforms.

Todesengel 08-25-2009 04:36 AM

Malice you have awesome taste in shoes.

Underwater Ophelia 08-25-2009 06:06 AM

I want pretty much everything for sale in American Apparel.

Malice In Wonderland 08-25-2009 06:34 AM

You should see the riot boots I have on atm.

And Ophie, I agree.
I want everything on sale.
Ever.

vindicatedxjin 08-25-2009 07:09 AM

Oh this thread is for everyone...sorry i didn't clarify on that. And malice those boots would be kick ass...I have some platforms that lace up to my upper thigh that I thought would look cute with the dress... I'm not that great at sewing and making my own pattern so I don't really want to risk wasting a bunch of material trying to make it myself lol.

SiouxsiePernova 08-25-2009 07:22 AM

I want some hair accessories like this:

vindicatedxjin 08-25-2009 07:26 AM

OOH very very cute!

Tam Li Hua 08-25-2009 07:30 AM

Oh, I -love- Gothic L0lita!! I love the design of that dress as well, and wish I was young enough, little enough, and rich enough to afford such things en masse! ^_^

I think the skeleton head rose would go -perfectly- with it, too!! *squee*

I really want this tophttp://content.nordstrom.com/ImageGa...2/_5863642.jpg
I'm thinking of asking a friend to see if she can make up a pattern and make me something based on the design seeing as it is by Roberto Cavalli and costs $960 so I can't even come close to affording it.

Pineapple_Juice 08-25-2009 06:45 PM

Cavalli's underwear cost like two hundred bucks. No thanks.

Solumina 08-25-2009 07:01 PM

I know, but the guy really does have a way with fabric *sigh* I miss being a spoiled rich kid. Oh well, at least I have some friends who are fantastic at reproducing looks, and one of them currently has a lot of free time and that shirt would go perfectly with my new skirt.

ShadowxMakerZ 08-25-2009 07:19 PM

Now that looks super sexy. I would be at your feet if I saw you in that hahaha.

Cicero 08-25-2009 07:26 PM

I've been wanting this for ages. I'll totally get it once $242 doesn't seem to me like way too much for a necklace... if that ever happens.

Sadly, the parasol is out of stock and the dress would need to be let out a little.

Edit: Hm, the link for the dress wont work. :l

Cicero, that necklace is from necromance, isn't it?

I stopped shopping there because, while it is Dov Charney's free choice with however he wants to market things, and the employees get good pay, Dov Charney is too disgusting and sexist for me to buy into that mentality.

Even though I love there things.

Necromance, for all its merit, can be incredibly expensive at the best of times.

I would love: https://id261.securedata.net/necroma...mb_er209_h.gif

Actually, that parasol is avaliable on eBay. =) That's where I bought mine. It was also -far- less expensive that way. [I love EVERYTHING on Retroscope's site, but damn it, I'm just not that well-to-do! ;_; Ah well..]

Underwater Ophelia 08-26-2009 07:39 AM

Pineapple Juice, you and I have a similar style, it seems.

Ophelia's Snorkel 08-26-2009 07:53 AM

I really want this

Oooh, I like the dress. I wish I could wear stuff like that.

Pineapple_Juice 08-26-2009 03:14 PM

Why can't you?

MissCheyenne 08-26-2009 03:16 PM

I'm a bit too wide on the hips to pull off dresses that shape. I've tried and failed before.

Pineapple_Juice 08-26-2009 03:20 PM

Poppycock! These dresses are meant for wide hips! If the girl in the photo had more hip and boob it'd look way better. Furthermore, I have hips like a motherfucker and I am goddamn sexy.

MissCheyenne 08-26-2009 03:24 PM

I have no doubt that you are :) I think I have a little body paranoia anyway but the fact I have wide hips isn't helped by me being rather short and being short and curvy is often hard to dress, since all the shops in the town I live in either cater for really skinny tall girls or rather larger sized ladies.

Pineapple_Juice 08-26-2009 03:32 PM

Well I'm an inch shy of six feet so I know what a bitch it is to find stuff that fits. My point is this: attractiveness is entirely subjective, and it's just too much of a bother to be negative towards yourself all the time. If you like it, wear it. At the end of the day (not to get too Hallmarky), it's your life and you're the one who's gonna be doing the dying in the end so might as well do as you please.
Wear the dress.

MissCheyenne 08-26-2009 03:35 PM

Might help me look more my age wearing something like that actually. I'm not negative about myself all the time, I must point out, I just find shopping for clothes so disappointing that it's hard not to be sometimes. The troubles of not being a standard size and shape I suppose.
