Jesus is the way

This message is for anyone who doesn't know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
Have you ever stolen anything no matter how big or small? What does that make

you? A thief right? yes. Have you ever told a lie? What does that make you? A liar

yes? yes. Have you ever had lustful thoughts toward anyone? Well Jesus said that if

you have lusted then you are an adulterer at heart and adultery is against the ten

commandments. It is number 7. Have you ever hated someone? Jesus said that if

you have ever hated anyone then you are a murderer at heart. Thou shalt not kill

(murder) is number 6.
So if God were to judge you by the ten commandments would you go to heaven or

hell. We would all go to hell if that were the case. No man has followed the ten

commandments. But you know what God did to save us from going to hell. He sent

His Son to die on the cross for us and suffer for all of our sins. Then He rose from

the dead to defeat death forever that we may live forever in Heaven and not suffer

eternal damnation.
If you deny this belief let me tell you that the Gospels were written within one

generation of the life of Christ and they were written by eyewitnesses or by people

who interviewed witnesses. This has been proven by historians.
I just want you to realize that I care for you and I want to see you in Heaven and

God Loved this world so much that He gave His only begotten Son that whosover

believes in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
I ask you to please think about your eternity and this message and come to Jesus

and repent (turn away) from your sins.

Godslayer Jillian 04-07-2007 11:11 PM

Definitely spooky.

maggot 04-07-2007 11:44 PM

Definitely not news, though. We've been hearing these doom and gloom dystopic fairytale rules being spewn from the mouth of this bigot for a while now.

Godslayer Jillian 04-08-2007 12:00 AM

Wait, this is not the Spooky News section.
Well, let's talk about other stuff:
This copy-and-paste message makes me think of Jesus as giving away pamphlets rather than teaching.

maggot 04-08-2007 12:04 AM

Oh yeah, you're right. xD

Go me.

Either way, it still holds up.

And it's not commentary, either.

He's totally giving away pamphlets. That's what Christianity is about. Making the biggest ass of yourself as possible, amirite.

Jarl 04-08-2007 03:27 AM

Dear God

Despite what you may have to offer, I'd much rather pave my own path towards my own happiness, as much as I would like to be delivered from my own madness and hell, the path of which I pave is not intended to be an easy ride as following would be, but all of those wrongs, the bitterness and depression that follows are the building stones towards the appreciation of my inevitable happiness. Now if you are leading followers, who goes through the necessary steps of dismay? That would be you, the followers would just apathetically follow behind waiting to be enlightened by this promise land yet when they get there it won’t be as they imagined, but only as your gloomy mindset had imagined… the more the want and need the more the exaggeration the mind portrays.

In other words, for anyone to achieve happiness, they must do it on their own and experience every step of the way on their own… All you will become is a god with followers who want more. I do not doubt your ability to deliver people, to enlighten people – but what I trust in more is that they will not appreciate it… and thus all you will have, is what was really there all along, a nation of apathy – but with a different face.

And the whole idolizing the leader and worshipping, which is implied with following in return for the gift you offer of which made them follow you in the first place, merely creates more apathy, it’s not the concept or rules that suppress the ego… it’s simply the following. But I guess if you could make them delusional enough to be passionate and happy even under such circumstances, then you have succeeded. But remember everyone has only ever rebelled because they have awoken from a delusion.

-----

I would have posted this else where but it did not seem worth it.

As for JEsus, if he was indeed real (Personally I thinkt he bible is good fiction made of of metaphores selling their morality) He was helping peopel with his own two hands, not handing out pamphlets. He was the only true christian, everyone else is using it's name to look good

the-broken-harlequin 04-08-2007 06:15 AM

"He was the only true Christian"

But he was a jew.

Jarl 04-08-2007 07:09 AM

Yeah he was a jew, but you know what I meant, the concept of Christianity, wasn't created after hsi death, he is the base of the religion, the Christians try to act like him, but they fail. Perhaps I should have used a better term?

MollyMac 04-08-2007 07:10 AM

Repetition of statement does not clarify.

God was not a Christian. Do as he says not as he does?

... and this still belongs in Shill.

This guy needs to go Chicking elsewhere, perhaps among the more naive. Most people here seem to know their own minds and will change them of their own accord as life progresses, not by a poorly copied chain letter.

Jesus would know how to copy and paste.

Jarl 04-08-2007 07:51 AM

Jesus was the archtye of Christianity, Jesus actually went out and helped peopel personally with his own two hands, and actually sacrificed soemthing while doing it, his followers named Christians, attempt to act liek Jesus in the name of God, alas the Christians, rather than doing the good deeds of JEsus, fucked everything up, the only person who acted anything liek a proper Christian was Jesus, the only pure one and so on, not oen Christian today is a proper Christian, all diet Christians and hypocrites or fakes. Hence why I said the only true Christiand was Jesus.

Did that clarify it? x_x

MollyMac 04-08-2007 08:00 AM

Usually I do not attack grammar and spelling, but you need to make some amendments for clarification purposes.

Shyantra 04-08-2007 08:32 AM

Good luck in trying to convert all of us. [/sarcastic]

Yeah my bad, I'm used to Firefox because it checks the spelling for me whereas IE does not, Firefox stopped working ;_;

whispertwist 04-08-2007 08:46 AM

I cannot imagine an approach LESS likely to persuade people to convert to Christianity.

It inspires in me an urge to burn my Bible.

Jarl 04-08-2007 08:47 AM

IF they really wanted to convert people... oh wait, no, drugs and pre marital sex is frowned upon amongst Christians... um nevermind >_>

Rotflmfao!!!!!!!!
Nice one Jarl. That made me smile, compared to how I have felt in the last 12 hours.

DarkHeartedDemoness 04-08-2007 09:08 AM

What does the Bible say about mind-altering substances?

This is an actual question. I don't remember.

LOL Good one! I'm going to used that next time someone tries to turn me to Chritianity.

GothGarl 04-08-2007 09:13 AM

Mind-altering substances? You mean drugs, alcohol and so on?

I don't know, but I'm sure the Bible does not agree with drug use, because we all know, that Christianity is ANTI - FUN D: well, for goths anyway... I don't exactly see those bland Sunday School activities like Pin the crucifix on the heretic and apple of bobbing or what ever the fuck they do,very fun ._.

Sunday school - MAking brainwashing sorta fun

Off subject probably, but I'm all giddy from playing Poke'Mon Yellow on my computer ^_^

The Bible is ambivalent toward alcohol. It is considered a blessing from God. In the Bible Jesus turned, I think it was water, into wine at a party. However, drunkeness is considered a sin. Some church allows moderate drinking while others forbid it.

As for drugs, I have no idea but I know Christians are against it.

MollyMac 04-08-2007 09:58 AM

I do not recall anything on narcotics proper (not intended to be sarcastic), but JC in the desert was there for meditative purposes and contemplation. No food, no water. Deprivation itself is a way to an altered consciousness. I do not infer this to mean that the Bible/Christianity would condone altered states by drug use, but that *intent* would be key to anything.

Water into wine? All the same, Lot's daughters got him drunk, Judith got Holofernes drunk (the moral of the Old Testament: Don't let Jewish women get you drunk)... I think it can be inferred that it is less about the substance and more about moderation and intent.

Edward 04-08-2007 10:01 AM

So uhm... I guess I have to pipe in, being christian and all.... whats been said is definately the by the book form of conversion, I was actually taken to a class on how to do it, I don't agree with it.
For a moment all those who don't believe in God and Jesus pretend he does, or you won't see the point I'm about to make.

Jesus did die for our sins, but he also gave us free will, he gave us the choice to follow him or not, so going onto forums and shoving religion into somebody is the wrong way to do it, orienedarnell, if you are asked questions about your religion, please answer properly and respectfully, don't go all up in other peoples business and and push condemnation in their face, you forgot the most important thing, yes we all have not lived the perfect life, all of us have broken at least one of the commandments, I've broken all 10... which sucks, but remember, please never forget this, he died for our sins, thats why we celebrate easter (or more specifically good friday) thats why its called good friday, because jesus took all of our sin and died for it, we're forgiven, every morning a clean slate, christians, atheists, satanists, muslims, everyone, every single person is reborn every morning with a clean slate.

So stop attempting conversion through fear of condemnation.

No problem, I'm just defending the faith I love, defending it from people who turn it into cult.

Just because it isn't your religion, doesn't mean that you can highly dis it for those who have it as theres.

CptSternn 04-08-2007 11:19 AM

The whole Christians against drugs thing is kinda funny. I say this because depending on where you live, this changes. In Holland, where marijuana is legal and they have a huge industry involve shoppes, bars, etc. - do you think churches there give it the same criticism they do in say churches in Alabama?

Same goes for other parts of the world where various substances are legal and/or regulated by the state.

As far as what the Bible actually says on the subject - it has nothing directly involving mind alterting substances, however, a passage (don't have the book/line number but will find it) dealing with alcohol consumption can be, in my opinion, used as a safe measure for other such substances.

It states that alcohol is alright, in moderation. As long as you do not let it run your life or put it ahead of meaningful life goals, its use is acceptable. I think that this would be the general view on other substances as well.

Kraven de Sade 04-08-2007 11:30 AM

Isaiah 65:8 "Thus saith the Lord, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it; so will I do for my servant's sake"

Wine in a cluster? Hmm... The smokable parts of marijuana are indentified as growing in clusters... Jesus was a hippy! :D

CLV 04-08-2007 11:57 AM

Why?..why can't I diss it?
If you think that say...errrr The Simpsons is good and I want to post my opinion and say well..no actually i think it is shit, why cant I say so?
Because this will offend those who like The Simpsons?
You cant go through life like that.
It's a free world and i can say what i like.
Religion is at the root of all the troubles in the world in my opinion.
If you don't like what i say, skim over it.
I'm offended by people who quote the bible.

DarkHeartedDemoness 04-08-2007 12:14 PM

There's a difference between posting your opinion and being a self-righteous, deliberately inflammatory, dick. There's also a difference between liking a TV show and believing in a higher power.

Don't be a twat.

Kaz 04-08-2007 12:17 PM

Huh? Is this person a regular?

I practise Witchcraft, so I guess I shall be burning in hell too...but...I am glad that you have found Christianity which makes you happy.

Bright Blessings to you orionedarnell.

DarkHeartedDemoness 04-08-2007 12:38 PM

Orionedarnell is only a regular insomuch as he posts here regularly to preach his copy-and-pasted unoriginal pamphlet-esque religious theories at us.

killer_asian_Dax 04-08-2007 12:42 PM

CLV- stop being a douche! I'm just as offended as you are about people who feel the need to preach to the "non-believers," but that doesn't give me free license to be an ass.

orionedarnell- I'm glad you've found something that you feel gives meaning and purpose to your life. However- you coming here and spouting Revelations and Psalms isn't going to do you well. Especially on this site. It would be within your best interest to either stop and learn to get along or just leave the site all together.

That is all.

Godslayer Jillian 04-08-2007 12:44 PM

Actually I agree with CLV.
Religion has been placed in a pedestal where none should dare touch it.
You could bitch just about everything; the best example is the lack of patriotism in America.
And yet, one would never dare speak in the same language as one speaks about the government, when the subject is a certain religion.
I do not agree with CLV's vocabulary, but only in that I don't like it under any conditions (except when it sounds funny), but in principles, I back him up.

Shyantra 04-08-2007 01:33 PM

Well so do I, but I don't make it a habit to criticize people for believing what they believe; I get enough of that from other people about my religion.

CLV 04-08-2007 02:20 PM

HEY!..now who is being offensive?..calling me a twat.
Actually I don't mind...'twat' is a very funny word.

And for the record, i didn't criticize anyone for what they believe in, I just put my opinion forward that i thought it was a crock...I didn't call them a twat or anything.

Each to their own.

And Godslayer, I'm a 'she'

I'd just like to add, that I love you all.

MollyMac 04-08-2007 03:13 PM

There should be no disrespect in regards to anyone's beliefs. Just because we may not all agree does not mean that we cannot have a mutual respect. I respect Orion's cut and paste beliefs, but think that he, himself, is a twat (still love that word) doing his faith and fellow Christians no favors.

Jesus was a fan of discussion, not of preaching. What would Jesus do?

Jesus would listen.

CLV 04-08-2007 03:24 PM

Mutual respect is very over-rated.

Jesus wouldn't listen to orion, he'd get really bored with his blathering on then probably disintegrate him with his laser beam eyes...no wait...that was superman...sorry.

DarkHeartedDemoness 04-08-2007 03:27 PM

Jesus wouldn't listen to orion... But he wouldn't listen to orion based on the fact that orion's a blithering twat.

I just don't think it's necessary to respect a person to respect their religion. I don't like orion, I don't respect him. But I wouldn't dislike him solely based on his religion, particularly when there are other people representing his religion that do deserve my respect. And if I expect people to respect my religious choices, if not me personally, I feel like I should do the same for them.

HEY! You can't do that, you can state your opinion, you can blame christianity or organised religion for the troubles on earth, god knows everyone else does, and thinks it's a good idea. But you can NOT, speak down about the religion, or make fun of my lord, it's disrespectful, and its wrong.

Dancing_in_rain 04-08-2007 07:49 PM

CLV, please do not insult other people's religion and beliefs. I go to church on Sundays, was confirmed last year and am still puzzling over the whole there-is-a-God-watching-over-us thing. I'm not always sure about it, and there are times when I downright hate God and the notion of Him but that doesn't mean that I go around insulting others and their beliefs. As for you Orion, you sound like a really annoying Jehovah's Witness. Instead of simply copy pasting, (and really badly at that) maybe, just maybe, you should write a proper introductory post and explain why you believe in God and why you are spreading the good word. Amen.

Why? We all feel free to speak down about political beliefs, musical preferences, etc., so long as it's about the thing itself and not a personal attack. Why should religion be any different?

Christianity's history vitiates any claim it might make to deserving respect. It has built itself on the broken bodies and shattered ruins of heathens and their belief systems. It co-opts holidays, knocks pagan temples over and builds cathedrals in their place, tears tribal deities from the clouds by associating them with Christian saints, and when it can't get its way by cajoling and manipulating people, fills mass graves with their bodies.

Now that in a particular portion of the world Christianity is ascendant, Christians are waving their arms around. "Okay! No more of that! From now on, it's illegal to say bad things about a religion!" It's funny how when the religion stopped being able to count on the state to help it stamp out crimethink, it suddenly changed its tune.

Meanwhile we have characters like this Orion running around embarassing all the civil Christians. How? By behaving in a fashion which is exactly consistent with an actual strong belief in what's written in the Bible.

mrs.wes straker 04-08-2007 10:12 PM

Yes, it is embarrassing and I think I speak for more than just myself when I pull my hair, grit my teeth and say ENOUGH WITH THE CHRISTIANITY THREADS ALREADY! My gosh. First of all, goth does not equal Satanist. Why are you posting these messages here, Orion, or whoever you are? People who are Christians don't need it, and those who don't want to hear it get offended. SO JUST STOP. STAY ON TOPIC. And DON'T BE AN IGNORANT CHRISTIAN. Christians are already ridiculed enough.

Sorry. I have to have at least one outburst per day.

HumanePain 04-08-2007 10:22 PM

Am I wrong for wondering whether these inappropriately outgoing types even have any faith? There's a guy at my job who's an Atheist, and he talks about his beliefs and tries to convert people whenever he sees the slightest chance. I can't help but question if these types of people are trying to convince others or themselves. By the way, Humane, and this is directed at you b/c I think you might appreciate it, did you hear the Collins interview on NPR in late March? Dawkins was also on the day before he was.

To be perfectly honest I haven't gotten around to listening to Dawkins' interview yet. I heard Collins' interview today on the Fresh Air website and it was basically an interview in which he discussed how he came to his faith, why he's still in it, and his (almost 10 year) project on genetics. It also touched very briefly on stem cell research and partial cloning, which has opened my eyes a bit and began a break down in a prejudice that existed in me. It was very interesting. I don't want to go into it to much because I've only heard it once and I don't want to misquote any of it, nor do I want to spoil it. It can be heard online or as a podcast, if you have the time.
