Who loved Carrie?

Carrie was one of the scariest and best horror movies of all time. Who agrees?

Chrltt 09-28-2005 02:49 AM

I saw it and thought it was really good but I thought it was only a bit scary, but the thing at the end when her hand sticks up out of the dirt, gave me a fright...

Pois0ned_Apple 09-30-2005 03:33 AM

I really lie=ked Carrie.. it was on of those im freaked uot but not scared movies

[email protected] 10-13-2005 06:25 PM

I liked the movie but it didn't give me much of a fright asthe book did.

nefersephone 10-22-2005 02:15 PM

I liked that movie, I saw it when i was about nine. i didnt find it scary because my mum looks exactly like carrie, so much so she frightens people in the supermarket. so im pretty used to it!

dramaelf 10-22-2005 05:18 PM

Is your moom Sissy Spacek?
Just kidding. But that would be cool.:)

mortalitas incomitatus 10-23-2005 03:23 AM

the book is better

~that is all~

moonbaby345 03-12-2006 01:07 PM

so. is there a reason you can’t post some new on something old. Yesterday I nosiest someone posted in The Crow giving it a come bake. Any complaints, didn’t thing so.

Empty_Purple_Stars 03-14-2006 09:05 AM

Yes.. What she said..

Unless the thread was stupid to begin with, people may feel free to post in any relevant thread, no matter how long it has been inactive.

However, I did have a talk with Reject about this very fact yesterday.

So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, and hope he got my point.

Yes, I understand...
don't say anything if a thread gets reopened from a long time ago.

GeishaGirl 03-14-2006 10:30 AM

Phhhft. If the person who re-starts the thread has nothing better to say then "oh, i like them!" then, they should have just shut the hell up. That's not furthering anything.

We all like Carrie. Tell is something new.

WolfMoon 03-15-2006 09:04 AM

It's not one of my favorite films and I've never read the book. It just doesn't seem very interesting to me, inanimate objects coming to life and trying to kill someone. Always seemed super-weak to me.

Watch out! That toaster's a killer!

tenet_2012 03-15-2006 09:07 AM

I didn't like it; especially the end. The camera work made me angry.

Shi'ark 03-15-2006 09:11 AM

As with, all but one, Stephen King movies, the book was much better.

tenet_2012 03-15-2006 09:12 AM

Bad comma splices!

If I can spell is right The Shawshank Redemption, which is more of a long short story then book.

WolfMoon 03-15-2006 09:19 AM

I loved that movie!

:)

Bah!

I've seen it, it's not brilliant. The inanimate object I'm talking about is the car. True cars are mobile, but they're still objects. Like a toaster. They don't move by themselves, normally. That kind of movie just doesn't frighten me. Why would a 'ghost' bother inhabiting an object instead of trying to inhabit a person.

That'd be much more useful!

tenet_2012 03-15-2006 09:26 AM

What about the Amityville Toaster?

Yeah, I've heard great things about the movie, but I've only seen parts of it. I'll probably rent it sometime.

A story that isn’t long enough to be a book but to long to be a short story. I laughed to when I first hared of it. And go rent Shawshank to night, it’s true what they say.

Anyway… Carrie, it’s ok but not great.

Shi'ark 03-15-2006 09:32 AM

X I didn’t think you were laughing at me. Don’t worry so much about my feelings, I let them die a long time ago.

Wolf, Darling, you're talking about a completely different movie. "Christine" is the movie about the car that moves itself and kills people in jealous fits over it's owner.

"Carrie" is about a girl who has a Jesus freak for a mother and discovers that she has telekinetic powers. It's the one where they pour pig blood over her head when she's elected prom queen and she goes all psycho on their asses with her powers. It has John Travolta in it.

Watch Carrie. I think you'll like it.

Pathogen. 03-15-2006 03:27 PM

"Carrie", 1 of a few movies that scared me witless as a child. Now that I'm grown, I can actually enjoy it. The prom night scene & Mrs. White's attempted murder of her daughter Carrie/house collapse climax were the best parts of the flick! Fully!

Darkfeeling 03-15-2006 03:35 PM

My favorite scene of all is when the gym teacher gets killed! I love it!

GeishaGirl 03-15-2006 03:41 PM

My favorite part is when her mother learns she had here period and beats Carrie with the bible and makes her repeat what she's saying.

"Eve was weak! SAY IT! Eve was weak! Say it!"

I love it.

Reject_Bunnies 03-15-2006 03:48 PM

Yes,"Chrstine" was the movie about the haunted '57 Plymouth Fury(The book was better).
And "Carrie" is about the girl who can move objects with her mind.

Favorite catchphrase for me? Two words:"Dirty Pillows". :D

DemureDemise 03-23-2006 09:42 AM

I like the movie but it's not much a scarefest.

Betrothed2Death 03-23-2006 03:43 PM

I watched it just the other day for the first time (well, that's sort of a lie as I saw bits of it before when I was younger but I was too scared to watch the whole thing because basically the only scene I saw was when she was drenched in pig's blood and ok, Sissy Spacek has got a fcuking freaky ass face!!! or at least she did in that movie. God Damn.) But anywho, I thought to meself, wow.. this is a pretty awesome movie... It still has the effect I believe it was meant to have and it was made in the 70's! So I say, "Classic" "Brilliant" and "Bloody Well Done!" ;)

J.M.Lovechild 06-02-2006 08:27 AM

I really liked the film, but i haven't read the book. I didn't find it at all scary though.

Darkfeeling 06-02-2006 12:11 PM

I reccomend you read the book aswell. Compared to the movie, the book is AMAZING.

J.M.Lovechild 06-02-2006 02:13 PM

Yeah i keep meaning to get around to it. Will do soon though.

Immortal_Death 06-28-2006 05:56 AM

It was pretty good...The ending creeped me out a bit...

malicexlacedxdreams 07-17-2006 10:09 PM

I thought the movie was really good [the original one], but I've never read the book.
