furries

so how many of you are furries or know what a furry is?

Tha Duckman 03-01-2008 08:07 PM

Yes.

.ooybvt,uotu

james"bloody tears" 03-01-2008 08:12 PM

yes you are one or yes you know one

Bella Sophia 03-01-2008 08:14 PM

I know a few guys that are furries. One guy never shuts up about it and freakin annoys me. He proves almost every furry stereotype true. My other friend though is pretty cool.

emeraldlonewoulf 03-01-2008 08:15 PM

yes, and there are already a couple of older furry threads around here somewhere. except for those who are furries of one sort or another, I doubt you'll find much knowledge or acceptance of it. It seems many goths have come across those whiny teenage confused and angsty furries , and it has predjudiced their view of the subculture. >: ) :P (please note tongue-in-cheek, mildly sarcastic tone)

Tha Duckman 03-01-2008 08:17 PM

I knew a bunch in London.

Xombie 03-01-2008 08:21 PM

Fuck furries. :K

L'Oiseau Noir 03-01-2008 08:38 PM

Furries are just closet zoophiles. :D

He won't care. He's a stubborn little twat that knows everything about nothing. I can't even talk to him about music because he acts like such a damned know-it-all, like he knows every band on the planet.... that's why we stopped talking.

I suppose I can't call him my friend anymore.

Green.Lady 03-01-2008 09:06 PM

I don't personally understand furries, but as long as it's all consensual, "whatever floats your boat."

james"bloody tears" 03-01-2008 09:15 PM

green lady care to explain what you mean cuz im lost

emeraldlonewoulf 03-01-2008 09:28 PM

james, most people who have heard of furries have just heard of certain sexual aspects from the minority. most people think of furries as people who dress up in suits for screwing. They don't understand fursuiting, or that it doesn't have to be a sexual thing, or that most times it isn't, or even that the great majority of furries aren't fursuiters. Kinda like people automatically assume goths are into heavy bondage :/, except with furries people think that is the main focus. they don't know about anthropomorphic art, or the spirituality some associate with it, or that it is a way for some people to be more comfortable in their own skin.

james"bloody tears" 03-01-2008 09:35 PM

i knew that, it kinda makes me sad, stupid stereotypes. when you said "as long as it consensual" it kinda threw me off

Green.Lady 03-01-2008 09:46 PM

I was just saying that I don't care what people do in a sexual nature if it's consensual. I don't know about the other aspects of furry culture - please explain.

james"bloody tears" 03-01-2008 09:54 PM

im new to culture but i'll give it a go.
for some of us its a way to escape, for others a way to meet interesting people, for some its entertainment, for others unfortanitly it is about sex, some of us just like to cuddle with total strangers in suits. thats as best i can put it, if you want try wikipedia or a furry web site.

Graveyard.Crow 03-01-2008 10:44 PM

So why does dressing up as animals turn some people on?

I used to perform in a giant duck costume.

That's hot, Duck.

Tha Duckman 03-01-2008 11:13 PM

Ain't it? Just imagine a big duck wearing goggles and straddling a cherry red Fender Strat. That was me circa '95.

Miss Cogs 03-02-2008 12:35 AM

Who finds Cat Woman hot? Hmm? Personally, I do.

She's a leather kitty. ;P

Underwater Ophelia 03-02-2008 05:56 AM

I'm not a furry myself, but I'm familiar with the culture.

KontanKarite 03-02-2008 06:16 AM

I don't really have an opinion on them save for the fact that they strike me as almost the same mentality as those in the goth culture that thinks it's all divine or special in some way.

james"bloody tears" 03-02-2008 10:46 AM

at least some of you seem to understand.
ive never met any one who feels furry fandom is specail or divine.

KontanKarite 03-02-2008 10:50 AM

The one's I've met have. Then again, I suppose everyone is enchanted with something shinny and new at first with anything.

Godslayer Jillian 03-02-2008 01:55 PM

Can't understand it either.
Furries and otherkin. Only want wants so badly to feel dark.

Solumina 03-02-2008 02:03 PM

I get furries/otherkin/therians/people with totem animals/whatever who feel a connection with a type of animal and I understand why some of them enjoy wearing a physical representation of that animal (ears/tales/what-have-you), I just don't get the people who have a fetish for that kind of stuff

Godslayer Jillian 03-02-2008 02:08 PM

I just don't get it for the same reason I don't get any attempt to materialize, humanize, and objectify spirituality.
Basically I put furries in the same level as religious people. And if anyone find that offensive, it just means they're thinking with pre-conceived notions of either of these two people. If you think critically about it a little, you'll see why I see them as equals.

Tha Duckman 03-02-2008 02:10 PM

Some people need to believe in something. Let them.

Godslayer Jillian 03-02-2008 07:39 PM

I do believe in a lot of inexistent things based not on what is but on what ought to be.
I believe in the metaphysics of quality.
I believe in the inherent goodness of humankind.
I believe that the two concepts of Liberty and Equality balance each other when arbitrated by Fraternity.
I believe evolution is increasing exponentially.
I believe as soon as this system is overthrown, with the current globalization of information, oppression will finally become obsolete.

Yet these beliefs are (in the very least) more than half based on decent evidence, and conjectured by the reasoning my experience as a human being has accrued.
I don't see how personal animal totems and paternal spiritual crutches can be based on evidence more than on personal preference and defense mechanisms.

badteccy 03-02-2008 07:45 PM

I actually have an irrational hatred for furries.
Yes, yes, I know it's closed minded and shitty of me, but goddamn furries need to get some lives.

KontanKarite 03-02-2008 07:46 PM

I share Jillian's sentiment.

When the world that you expected to work with you has failed you, you tend to reach out for something to make it all better. Sadly, many people forget that it's within them to do so.

Godslayer Jillian 03-02-2008 07:55 PM

I admire cats because of their equilibrium. There's a whole martial arts discipline based on imitating the tiger.
I like this.
Imitating the feline within the human's physical boundaries allows for a lot of strength, resistance, and swiftness. Excellent for parkour.
But liking cats doesn't mean I'm spiritually one.

LaBelleDameSansMerci 03-02-2008 11:21 PM

I wear red pard-print cat ears all the time, but not cuz I feel like I'm a cat or should be a cat. I wear them as an accessory because I think they're cute.

I figure whatever floats your boat, as long as basic rules of decency are observed.

james"bloody tears" 12-09-2009 01:13 AM

been awhile since i been here im glad to see a few have some understanding or at least some tolerance for us

LakitaJackson 12-09-2009 01:24 AM

I think them ferraris is nasty. They be puttin' on halloween costumes of bugs bunny n' shit to fuck each other, ain't right.

Plus, I had herd that they be kidnappin' babies and eatin' them to sacrifice to they crazy gods! Most of them are fat homosexual men. Dat's nasty, gurl.

I will pray for them. I will pray that god takes they lives a'fore I do. I gots me a glock and I ain't afraid to bust a couple caps in they hairy ass.

james"bloody tears" 12-09-2009 01:36 AM

A learn to spell B if your gonna rag on a culture make sure you know what your talking bout you ignorant prick and C you gotta glock you best kill me first shot cuz i carry heat to

Anarasha 12-09-2009 01:38 AM

Furries, aren't they the sickoes that get off sexually on animal/human drawings and animal behaviour?
We have one of those on this education I am on, he keeps on blabbering about his catgirl porn, and it pisses me off -.-"
(If I am in fact wrong and thinking of something else, I apolagize. I am far from sure.)

LakitaJackson 12-09-2009 01:45 AM

Yeah gurl, shit's fucked up. They be rubbing they chodes to Pokemon porn.

I'm guessing the vast majority of furries are socially inept. Seriously, that shit is just fucking weird and disgusting. I'm not the type to judge fetishes or sexual orientation in a serious way, but there's a reason why everyone who isn't one of those sad jack-offs tend to loathe them.

Note: I'd bother to find something more eloquent to say than "wierd and disgusting" but is there really any better way to put it?

james"bloody tears" 12-09-2009 01:48 AM

unfortunately yea some of the fandom are weirdos into fur porn known now in the fandom as yiff(it used to mean happy damn it wtf happened) tell your friend into the feline yiff that hes setting a bad example for the fandom and that all its doing is perpetuating a sterotype.

LakitaJackson 12-09-2009 01:54 AM

Dude, you're a weirdo. And "furry" and "proud" are antonyms.
Imma bust a cap in yo' fat, cellulite-covered, cracka ass.

Anarasha 12-09-2009 01:56 AM

Excuse me, did you just call this disgusting weirdo of a fuckshit crazy furporn watching pedophile my friend?

james"bloody tears" 12-09-2009 02:01 AM

wow i take it you dont like him sorry i didnt mean to offend i apologize. as for you lakita i suggest you simmer down an inet war of words is pointless, and if we ever do meet and you do shoot me kill me with that first shot cuz you dont and i wont miss

Maverick 12-09-2009 02:13 AM

That episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force still makes me die laughing... Hell, any episode of a show where they trash on furries makes me laugh.

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/at...HoppyBunny.png

Even though the episode makes no sense, it still manages to slag furries pretty good... so it's alright in my books.

james"bloody tears" 12-09-2009 02:15 AM

may i ask why you dont like us maverick?

Mainly because most of the people I've met who do that kind of thing are completely delusional.

I mean, feel free to LARP but... don't do it in public. That's more of a "parent's basement" kind of thing.

Most of the world doesn't care that you have a fascination for boning animals...

james"bloody tears" 12-09-2009 02:28 AM

im sorry you met the dirty underbelly of the fandom and i completely agree for those in the fandom who feel the urge to make love in costumes or even love animals(eeeewwwwww thats sooooo wrong) and it is a justified reason to not like the fandom i am sorry you met those in the fandom who give us a bad name and i hope you have better encounters with the fandom in the future
