Harry Potter

Anyone like Harry Potter or seen the new one? I like HP, must say its my favorite movie/book. Anyone else?

Midnight_Terror 11-29-2005 07:15 PM

I love Harry potter...well the movies anyway. The books have alot to be desired where it comes to some of the plot...but the movies are awseome with all the special effects and Draco Malfoy...that boy is hot

GeishaGirl 11-29-2005 07:22 PM

Oh my dear god.

The books are fabulous, as they are growing along with Harry. however, the movies leave much to be desired and **** the book for all it worth, run off with the goods, twist whats left and present it to you in candy coated packaging.

The new movie was a sad dissapointment. I can see why it might be entertaining to someone who hasn't read the book, but how anyone who HAS read the book and prefers the movie can is far beyond my grasp.

Seen it; loved it.

Midnight_Terror 11-29-2005 07:27 PM

The book is aggrivating and far to predictable, I guessed from the end of book 4 that Snape was on the darkside..and guess what...I WAS RIGHT. Eh

GeishaGirl 11-29-2005 07:31 PM

A fifty/fifty chance you were right. That's not a reason for seeing something as predictable, that's you making a good guess.

How on earth are the books agravating?

Midnight_Terror 11-29-2005 07:47 PM

They are agravating in the way the charecters are always so stupid, in the 6th book when Harry is trying to fight off the Inferia...HE FORGETS FIRE. He was told to use fire what, 5 minutes before? It's just stupid things like that which are scattered through the book...

cyberJade 11-29-2005 07:57 PM

I really like that kid with red hair. He is so damn sexy! Atleast for me.

Midnight_Terror 11-29-2005 07:58 PM

*gag* If you're talking about the guy that plays Ron you should be shot in the face.

Disfunction 11-29-2005 08:06 PM

Personally, since I first read the first and second books all those years ago, I've been unable to understand the rampant fascination with the series. It's relatively unique. I'll give it that, but as far as actualizing the concept into a decent brand of literature, I'm going to say outright that anything that doesn't surpass what I myself can spill out onto my computer screen isn't worth my time.

Sorry to those that enjoy the books, but I felt my opinion as valid as any other.

*shocked* How dare you, he is so adorable. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

If that's sexy, please to god say that I'm not.

Bwah hahahaha!

I concur sir!

rockandrose 11-29-2005 09:07 PM

I have never been a fan of Harry Potter and cannot relate to the numerous people of all ages who read the series and watch the movies. Similarly, I find the popular book "Da Vinci Code" to only be relatively ok.

Disfunction 11-29-2005 09:16 PM

I have yet to read the Da Vinci Code, though I've heard nothing but good things. Hopefully I'll disagree with the two of and enjoy it, rather than pointlessly subjecting myself to yet another sub-par piece of literary blah.

anti 11-29-2005 09:19 PM

My only encounter with anything related to Harry Potter would be when my little brother made me watch one of the movies with him on DVD. Dubbed in Icelandic. The cheesyness almost made me cry.

All I know now, is that if it's got anything to do with that Potter guy, I'll be running away from it as fast as I can.

As for the Da Vinci Code, by the way... I read it for school. The teacher gave us a choice between a few books and I picked the Da Vinci Code. Fucking hell how I wanted to throw that piece of crap out the window.

I didn't actually look for a bad picture; I looked for a recent picture.

Yeah, I think they're adorable*. And tall, too! ;)

*In a wholesome sort of way, of course. They're too young for my old self.

NyQuil of Doom 11-30-2005 11:42 AM

No no no, you're all supposed to like Snape the best, because I look like Snape, and I said so.

...yes, I am a Harry Potter fan, but I'm sure given my numerous mentions of Snape, you've figured that out already.

Disfunction 11-30-2005 11:49 AM

I like the actor who plays Snape, for whatever that's worth.
