"When the study ended, it had been forty years since the doctors administered their first placebo treatment for "bad blood" in Tuskegee. Over the course of the study, twenty-eight of the men had died of syphilis, and one hundred were dead due to related complications. Many of these patients died after penicillin had become readily available. Of the 399 original infected volunteers, only seventy-four survived to learn that their doctors had only been pretending to treat their disease for the past four decades. In addition, it was found that forty of the mens' wives had been infected during the study, and nineteen of their children had been born with congenital syphilis."

I can't really say anything... just... awful.

This is not an isolated incident. During the Korean War and WW2 they tested chemical agents on navy men - spraying their ships from above and seeing how various chemicals reacted on humans.

In the 1950s the government tested DDT on civilians - spraying neighbourhoods to see what effect it had on humans.

In the 1960s the US government tested LSD and other drugs on college students to see what effect they had on humans.

In the 1970s the US government tested agent orange and other chemicals on troops in Vietnam.

In the 1980s the US government tested vaccines on Eskimo children - forcing, without telling the parents. When the parents brought their children in for colds and flu they gave them experimental shots for testing various experimental vaccines, and told the parents it was for treating colds and flu. It wasn't until children started dying that and parents brought the kids bodies to another doctor, not the US funded doctors, to do the autopsy that they found them chock full of experimental drugs.

During desert storm in the 1990s, troops were used as guinea pigs and given various experimental drugs, some say thats what has caused the 'gulf war' syndrome. Currently there are dozens of lawsuits over this.

Makes you wonder what they are testing now...and on who...
