Hey there.
My name is Sephiroth Kali,
I am originally from Tallahassee, FL. I moved to Jacksonville, NC in 2005, and have been woking here since then, I am planing on moving to Fort Lauderdale early next year, in fact I'm visiting down here now, and I would love to hang out somewhere while I'm here, see the gothic community. If you know where to look, hit me up, or just post here. Personally, I love computers, computer security and what not. HACKING IS NOT A CRIME. I am a wikipedia contributer and what not. My musical tastes include metal and rock, currently the bands I listen to most are Within Temptation and In this Moment. look forward to getting to know you all. Gods Bless, -Sephiroth Kali |

It's what you do when you're in that can be criminal(stealing personal information, vandalism). Welcome, and for the sake of your sanity and your computer stay off mine.

It is, actually.

It depends on what you're hacking. If you're breaking into other people's computer systems, then yes, it is a crime. If you're just messing around with your own stuff then you might be breaking some EULAs but you certainly aren't doing anything criminal. Hackers, like the kind who go to Black Hat and DEF CON, provide a valuable service, though. They expose problems that need to be fixed.
SK, can't say I care much for your taste in music, but welcome anyway. Quote:

viscus: Exactly. Thank you. :)
CCT: Sephiroth was a character in FFIIV, and was also in Final Fantasy: Advent Children. :) |
|
I don't know whether to be proud or disturbed that I knew the origin behind Sephiroth's name as well. LOL
And nice to meet you. Oh hey, I got to meet the members of Within Temptation last summer. Did you see them when they were on their US tour? |

Well, I hack into video games just because I could, and hacker originally meant an adept computer user, but has since been changed...

I will welcome you if you hack into CocaCola's computers and expose evidence that they are murdering their way to the top of the soft drink market by then hacking into network television feeds and then broadcasting Coke's bloodthirsty greed to the whole world.
Ah...too much work. Welcome. :) |

Thank You all for the warm welcome.
Sephiroth is a FF7 Char, and the same one from AC and TSW. It's also Kabbalic if you are interested in the Kabbalah. As far as Hacking goes, I pen test my own networks, I am soon going to school for an Associates Degree in Network Administration, and then I hope to work in the Computer Security field, so you don't have to worry about my stealing your personal info. Don't forget that some of the greatest IT Security professionals of today were what people consider "Hackers" to be. If you want to understand a little bit more, I suggest "The Art of Intrusion" By Kevin Mitnick. |
