The fact that Welpmann and his goons give you so much attention, albeit negative, is that THEY FEEL THREATENED BY YOU! Or at least the lead Welp does. It's a well documented psychological phenomenon that bullies and, in general, the assholes of the world are the way they are because they feel highly inadequate and lash out with unwarranted aggression in an attempt to falsely buffer their shattered egos. The fact that they target you specifically means you threaten them. No doubt the Welp genuinely dislikes you, and probably thinks himself quite your superior, but the fact that such a thing weighs so heavily on his mind is a testament to his weakness of character. Maybe he sees something in you that he recognizes in himself, something that frightens him to admit to, so instead he mocks it, through you, in order to temper the fear and, again, buffer his pitifully lacking sense of self-worth.

Cheer up! You frighten the man...otherwise he wouldn't bother to spend so much time trying to knock you down...
