First of all, sorry for posting this in General. I meant to post it in literature, but I can barely read or point my computer cursor at things, much less write a comic book. So, I've got an idea for a new comic book. I wanted some feedback before I break out the sketch pad and milky pen and buckle myself in for yet another lonely night. I'm thinking of calling it "Gothic Us!" The main character is called Gothicus.
It takes place at the prestigious art school of a big city university, run by officious bureaucrats who don't know anything about art, who are themselves subordinate to officious bureaucrats who don't even pretend to know anything about art, who are in turn subordinate to a despotic regnant who constantly teeters on the cusp of insanity, becoming, as his dementia progresses, more and more fixated with hording wealth and, even more than that, territory (the university has even opened up a campus in Abu Dhabi. I know that's
silly , but I'm going for kind of a surreal thing).
Anyway, Gothicus is stuck in the Dramatic Writing dungeon, which doesn't even get computers. I mean food. It's implied that he used to be a pretentious cocksucker, but without anyone to impress he's devoted his brilliant intellect entirely to formulating a plan to wrest control of the university castle and converge its troops on the capital. If he can control all of the school's international assets, he will be a force to be reckoned with on the world stage, on par with even the catholic church. All of the women in the Dramatic Writing dungeon are hideously ugly, and Gothicus suspects they're only there to demoralize him, but one day some (3-5) really attractive film majors show up. Our hero is soon having sex with them all at once. The reason he gives for this is that they have been desensernatizerated, and the only way to shock them is to show them what true love is. It is implied he did something to convince them to do this, but he is not shown performing any acts of romance.
The other main character is Gothicus' best friend, himself. It is occasionally suggested that one is merely a figment of the other's imagination.
There is also a female janitor who follows the hero around telling him about her comic book ideas.
So yeah, some feedback would be great. When I finish the first story, I think I'm going to lose interest and just go back to crying myself to sleep.
