Arachnophobic hell

I cant sleep now. I cant go to bed either. Or my room. I was falling asleep several hours ago when i noticed A LOT of baby huntsman spiders all over my bedroom. Id say there were over 100. They were obviously the children of a very big spider (handspan sized) that was in my room a few weeks ago. This one crawled INSIDE my bedroom door and i refused to sleep in my room for a week. I found it in the laundry a week later and screamed like a bitch before spraying almost a whole can of pesticide on it. I stood on my bed for 10 minutes semi-paralyzed squishing as many as i could. After 15 minutes i flung a shirt over my head and ran outside the door as i was scared that there would be heaps of them above the door outside my room. Anyways, im too scared to walk around the house and my skin is crawling all over. They jump and hang from webs. They're really quite small but that doesn't stop them being spiders now does it.

Holy crap! I'm not arachnophobic, but that's too many damned spiders regardless! x__x;;; Maybe you need to call an exterminator..?

Vivi 02-17-2009 06:09 AM

ill look into an exterminator. Im sick of beating the crap out of myself when i feel something crawling on me in one of my fits of paranoia.

My dad is Arachnophobia too. I feel sorry for you. Too bad you live in a country that's filled with ridiculously poisonous spiders.

kikrox 02-17-2009 11:18 AM

i like it in the ass.

$haDe 02-17-2009 05:13 PM

Holy CRAP!!! That's... hell..

Is there something in your room attracted them ..like so fiercely ?

Huntsman spiders are fucking terrifying, come to think of it, most of the spiders you've got in your corner o' the world are both WAY too fucking big and WAY too poisonous.

nis~sijai 02-17-2009 05:50 PM

Wow, I can't even begin to imagine how horrible that must have been.

Something similar happened to my uncle except rather than a Huntsman, it was some sort of tarantula.

My friend was telling me about a very similar situation today.
One tiiiime I lifted the blankets off my bed and found three centipedes. That kept me from my bed for a week or two.
I enjoy spiders though.

Vivi's experience pretty much tops all mine, but goddamnit, Australia is the shittiest spider country in the world.

Arrived at my beach house last night and was greeted by a large, black, and very poisonous looking spider scuttling around the bath, and the biggest fucking huntsman I've ever seen curled up above the front door. That's quite relieving though, since we usually also have a massive huntsman hanging around the rickety old toilet. He used to hide behind the sliding door so you didn't see him until you were trapped inside. The bitch finally moved out so I can urinate without fear of spider-r@pe.

Of course not. That's a still image. You can't see it crawling around.

Ha ha, ah the joy of living in Australia in the summer, all the creepy crawlies come out! I had one of those massive Huntsman spiders on my work ute for a while, I saw him on it several times but I was driving and I couldn't find him once I'd stopped. I got the bugger the other day though, finally. I felt a bit bad once he was done away with . . I did your trick and just kept spraying the Mortein til he stopped moving.

I actually quite like spiders because they get rid of the insects. Spiders usually don't bother me, I don't bother them. Granted I also live in a place where there are only two varieties of venomous spider (black widow and brown recluse).

I did have an incident with a scorpion once though...woke up in the middle of the night to feel something crawling on my foot, kicked my foot a couple of times, suddenly felt an intense, burning sensation, jumped up, put my contacts in, saw that my foot was really red with what appeared to be a bite or sting of some sort, and pulled back the covers of my bed to see that the culprit was a little scorpion that had apparently decided it wanted to cuddle.

My old house, where I spent most of my childhood, was infested with all things nasty. White tail spiders in my bed & clothes, mouse spiders in the garden, and giant huntsmen on the walls.

For many years we had an outside toilet & I was terrified to go in there half the time because there were usually huntsmen in there & some of them are huge. I have been woken up many times by a spider running across my fresh in bed, most of the time a white tail. Nasty.

We also had our fair share of snakes, mostly tiger & brown, and had long handle shovels at every door to kill the buggers. There was also the odd scorpion in the house but only on the floor.

As much as I like spiders, I'm deathly allergic to them--Even the non-poisonous ones. When I was a little girl, there was a spider chillin' in my room that I talked to pretty much all day. My mom killed it when I was sleeping, then told me that my spider friend went to Hollywood to film Charlotte's Web.
