BS'ing

Forums are breeding ground for too much insult. I mean, just because no one can SEE you doesn't mean you don't owe a person verbally the amount of respect as if you were sitting next to them on a plane. I mean COME ON PEOPLE. I can't enjoy the net much, because I am insulted for being different and standing up for who I am. It's petty to care, but I can't stand being JUDGED everywhere on the net. Yet where I live everyone knows you, so the anonymity is a welcomed change....well not like that. I can still encounter friendliness where I live, in fact MOST people are always friendly to me IRL and likewise I am to them. People seem to have developed cliques on the net like it's not real life. It's real life, who turns their lives into the internet! Pretty soon we'll have the hackers take over and it will all be ruined, the government will be forced to shut it down and we'll become like China.
It's like people forget that forums are 'discussion groups' NOT dodge ball, grow up. It can only perpetuate idiot thinking, and wrecks people's lives. I'm not the one ruining the internet btw, it is everyone on a collective level. Cut the BS.

Forums do not ruin lives.

Solumina 03-03-2009 02:30 PM

The reason why there are so many insults on the internet isn't because people are meaner in the internet, it is because people act more freely, they do things on the internet that they would not do in front of people due to social pressure

There are insults on the internet because insults are still funny even in text format.

I actually stopped coming to this forum in the past because I found myself constantly insulting people. I am not going to lie: I felt a lot of people were fake or untrue to themselves and/or others, so I quit coming because it was adversely affecting the way I treated others. If you find that you're constantly insulting someone on here, it's probably a good time to take a break.

Not a single member insults people constantly. We all take breaks to congratulate each other on our malice and to masturbate in circle formations.

Do you play the biscuit game, too?

JCC 03-03-2009 03:55 PM

Do we?! We get through a whole pack of digestives in a couple of nights.

While what you say is true to an extent, you in particular have the tendency to say really stupid shit on these forums. You set yourself up for being insulted.

Sounds reasonable enough.

BS'ing? You got it all wrong, we're TS'ing (i.e Tit-Slinging - courtesy of Catch Fashion Advice for Blind Retards, Inc.).

Now, to serve the general public with my delicious bastardization: Get bent!

Tam Li Hua 03-04-2009 08:27 AM

I agree, but there are some forums out there where one is required to be a decent human being, and isn't allowed to be a complete jerk.

jack_the_knife 03-04-2009 08:28 AM

I got bored there and left.

You are whining like a bitch about words on your monitor that you do not have to read, not real people being mean to your face, that are a little harder to ignore.

For the love of god, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!
