Fabulous me?

Umm, so I'm Kuro and I'm a new member, as you can tell. I want to be your friend? Registration was initially closed, so I browsed Gnet for ages before I could register...Oh! I'm supposed to talk about me! I like to read and write and I highly value learning. I like dark things, I am painfully uncultured (educate me, I beg of you,) and I'm really really excited to be on Gnet!!! A lot. And I'm nice, unless you're an ignorant ass (although I myself am obviously not free of ignorance) so we ought to be friends. Please.

Lady Christine 03-26-2009 10:47 PM

Although I am hardly experienced on this forum, welcome. I hope you find people here who can live up to your expectations.

KuroOokami 03-26-2009 11:04 PM

Why, thank you, I am certain I will, as you have already shown me.

Mr E Nigma 03-26-2009 11:19 PM

You might want to look at the first post and answer the questions. It shall give us a bit more insight into who KurOokami really is. :]

KuroOokami 03-27-2009 11:33 PM

1. I'm a high-school student who enjoys reading, writing, drawing, mooching rides/caffeine off my friends, and learning.

2. I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

3. My favorite author is probably...er...Charlaine Harris, at the moment, anyway.

4. Some of my favorite films are: The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Sweeney Todd, Howl's Moving Castle, Betelgeuse, What's eating Gilbert Grape, Edward Scissorhands, I love you man, Juno, The Lion King, Princess Mononoke...there are so many more.

5. I don't give a damn what you play at my wedding. Preferably something fun and happy, or really bad. Like *NSYNC or Britney Spears.

6. Definitely play Britney Spears at my funeral. And Black No. 1 by Type O Negative. Love that song :D

7. I would prefer to die peacefully and in no pain or anguish.

8. Please dispose of my corpse in the least expensive way possible. [I keep addressing y'all directly, which isn't right. 's'fun, though.]

9. My FAVORITE outfit? I dunno. I have a pair of really, really destroyed black cargo pants that are full of holes. Those are suuuper comfortable, so it'd probably involve them in some way.

10. I miss the ignorance and freedom of childhood.

11. I haven't really got a favorite band, but I like Type O Negative and Bruce Springsteen.

12. I have part of a high-school education, and intend to major in some form of creative writing because I aspire to be a novelist.

13. I joined because this is the most amusing website ever. I forget how I found it, but it was an accident, and I grew to enjoy reading the different posts.

14. I'm a girl.

Pineapple_Juice 03-27-2009 11:37 PM

Lame. I love Nsync.

KuroOokami 03-27-2009 11:39 PM

So do I, but it doesn't make it quality music.

Pineapple_Juice 03-27-2009 11:43 PM

Aesthetic quality is entirely subjective.

Pyre 03-28-2009 12:46 AM

PJ is right (and I am going to call you that now since I am lazy): quality is subjective. Even though I don't care for N*Sync or other teenybopper bands, I can't argue that they are crappy bands or poor quality because that's not for me to decide--music is an art, even if it's a very hideous art at times. I DO refer to bands as being crappy, but usually I reserve such judgment for really horrible bands along the lines of Slipknot.

However then you come to the point where I like Slipknot and have seen them live, and this forces you to reinvestigate the limits of subjectivity within the enjoyment of music, concluding that it is perfectly legitimate to like Slipknot, and in fact healthy to do so, because JCC does.

Pineapple_Juice 03-28-2009 03:28 AM

I think Rick Astley is the shit.

viscus 03-28-2009 03:53 AM

"Great black god?" Is that what you're going for with your screen name?

You're doing it wrong, either way.

Underwater Ophelia 03-28-2009 07:45 AM

No, thanks.

There are so many things wrong with this statement that I don't even know where to start.

KuroOokami 03-29-2009 09:01 PM

Thank you. Not entirely sure what just happened with this thread, but I might as well go with it, no?

No, it was intended to mean "Black Wolf" but I am almost certain I did it wrong... **shrugs** oh well, too late now.

That was a terrible translation. In Japanese you can't just lump two words together. Nearly all of them require a particle. Ookami means wolf. But since you just stuck it next to Kuro, it appeared to form the phrase "Kuro o Okami" which means black god. Black wolf would be "Kuro o Ookami". It always bugs me, when anime fangirls think that just because they pull random words from anime titles, they think they know Japanese.

I declare this a win in my book.
