Ubuntu

So is Jaunty Jackalope the shit or what?

25 second boot time, beautiful fonts (Japanese in particular reads much nicer I've noticed), slick notification system, oh me likey...

I'm torn between ubuntu and kubuntu.

I've never tried a KDE desktop, and the few KDE apps I've tried seemed powerful but also heavy and feature-bloated. GNOME works well enough for me, but maybe if I'm bored sometime I'll give KDE a spin.

Jaunty is nice. But so far, I haven't actually seen any significant changes besides eye-candy.

I like how pretty KDE is and it has a LOT of neat eye candy, but for practicality I find Gnome better, but then I have a pretty shitty laptop.

I'm liking Jaunty so far, very naiiice, but like Jack I haven't noticed a huge difference.

I run Ubuntu off of Vmware, purely for Scripting/Programming. So the GUI doesn't interest me in the slightest.
