Oh, I thought this was about New Moon, or something...

Ophelia's Snorkel 10-19-2009 11:21 AM

Ha, so did I.

I_Zik 10-19-2009 11:31 AM

I thought it was too. Got snookered on that one. Even worse, the Vampire Diaries. Shitty premise, shitty plot, shitty actors riding the rotting entrails of Twilight with the "staring romance". Eulogy for a Vampire looks better than all those other abominable movies put together.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! They probably had more to spend on Edward's hair-gel then our budget.

Is New Moon really opening this Friday?

Ophelia's Snorkel 10-19-2009 01:24 PM

Well, for a small budget, your lighting and shots are very beautiful. The trailer has a mellow, polished look, and whatever film school tendencies in direction still linger are the sort of things that make the film more emotional than the usual blockbuster fare. Looks like you found some good actors with chemistry as well. Hope it gets a good reception and that I have a chance to watch it in full one day.

I_Zik 10-19-2009 01:28 PM

New Moon could die this friday for all I care. Imagine that C#ZT falling in love with the 30 Days of Night vampires. Ohh, the insanity.

Thanks for the good wishes! It has been sold for DVD and cable, so I reckon you shall see it!

As far the New Moon thing, it would be dreadful if we were to open the same Friday. Sigh.

I just did, and that brief and bloody scene has given me more pleasure than anything else all day.

Good Lord. What brilliant marketing person chose the same weekend to release "Eulogy"? Although I'm not sure we're going for the same audience!

Beneath the Shadows 10-19-2009 02:06 PM

Actually, I don't know when it's released. I thought it was next month.

fennis2000 10-19-2009 02:17 PM

Ah, I see 11/20.

I don't know why I know this, but The Vampire Diaries books are way older than Twilight. Twilight is riding their rotting entrails, just that now Twilight is popular they got a revival in popularity and a tv show.

As for the OP, I'm actually pretty glad you literally meant gay vampires and not in a derogatory way.

Yes, well... I thought if there was anyplace I could post about gay vampires and not get attacked by close-minded people or bigots... it would be on here!

I would really like to watch this film! Any chance it will be screened in Athens? There are some horror, gay, fantasy, alternative film festivals here.

Jaye Jang 10-21-2009 02:13 AM

Your long shots are excellent. So, when do we get to see the whole thing?

Hmmm, I'll have to check and see what the plans with international venues are...

It would be great to screen in Athens.

Any chance it would be aired in San Diego, CA?

I wish! Love San Diego... and met the nicest gothic/alt-culture folks there.

But besides DVD, there might be a cable release.... so it'll definitely be out there!
