One night in a somber tragic state
You stumbled down the sidewalk looking for my face
A lingering expression of lifelessness
And blood coming from this
Your heart

A shrill at my step
Your empty face had kept
That smile I love
Killing on your face
Killing for my embrace

And when I looked at you
It would make the glitter in your eyes
Dance like fireflies.

And when I touched your skin
A surge like wildfire
Would burn within.

A poison running deep

Stagnant, death will not mar your soul
Everlasting, that smile seared in my thoughts
And within it, the image of your face
Animates in my mind

Unobtrusive, I could never bring myself
To pain my eyes from leaving your gaze.
You used to cradle that thought,
Held it, fragile as a vase.
