When I wake up for work @ 4:30 am, the first thing on my mind is "why am I doing this to myself".
I then answer my own question with " I need to pay the bills".

CallMeDeth 08-26-2010 08:13 PM

"fffffffffffffffffffffffff..."

gothicusmaximus 08-27-2010 12:02 AM

"oh... it was just a dream. I'm still a paraplegic and I'll never play football again."

Catch 08-27-2010 05:14 AM

I think about what I need to do that day and getting a cup of tea.

*Twitch 08-27-2010 08:36 AM

"ugghhhhh fuck I need to invest in better beer" But usually it's more something along the lines of "Ugggghhhh...do I have work today? Fuck."

Saya 08-27-2010 11:13 PM

"Dear god, where is my totem?!"

EDIT: ALTERNATIVE ANSWER:

The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little pray for you
While combing my hair now,
And wondering what dress to wear now,
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, and ever, you'll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only meen heartbreak for me.

**waves hand in the air** can't answer this i'm a vampire bat.

Seriously, though I don't think anything when I first wake up - it takes me at least 30 minutes before a thought comes into my head.

Unless I've had one of those dreams then I think "Oh come on, i want at least another five minutes"

I love vivid dreams.

Ben Lahnger 08-28-2010 06:38 AM

Crap! Saya, I was gonna quote the Dionne Warwick song. Admit it: it would have been funnier with me saying it! :D

Okay, standard answer then:

"Fuck! What time is it? Should I be up yet? I wonder if there's any coffee left from yesterday to reheat or will I have to make a fresh pot?"

tears 08-29-2010 04:30 PM

LOOOL .." vampire bat " i'll never forget to mintion that next time ^^
yeah my mind is slow sometimes in the morning too .. i usually dream that i'm falling from somewhere really high like a i huge tower or something

LaBelleDameSansMerci 08-29-2010 04:48 PM

After the usual free-fall series of thoughts, I think "Nooo! Not work!" and lay in bed for a few more minutes until my male prods me to get up and then rolls over into my spot so I can't lay down.
If it's a day off, I think "Yes! I can stay in bed!" and then I turn on CBC, which anyone in Canada will know is a very boring and old-fogey station that is unsucessfully (as far as I am concerned) trying to rejuvenate itself.

Saya 08-29-2010 04:54 PM

I've learned to enjoy CBC radio after being stuck in a car with it on for eight hours the other week. It was either love it or go insane.

I learned about whales! And A.S.Byatt. The day before we were listening for an hour and I learned about ukuleles.

LaBelleDameSansMerci 08-29-2010 05:11 PM

I like some of the shows on it, though admittedly the ones left over from its non-rejuvenation stage, like Sunday Edition and current events shows, but things like Go and Studio Q and Definitely Not The Opera make me gag and I actively don't listen to them. I kinda wish I didn't work on Saturday afternoons so I could listen to Saturday Afternoon at the Opera... Oh well.
I find society has an interesting view of the opera. It's hoity-toity, traditionally thought of as boring - kind of the Shakespeare of music. That being said, it fascinates me, but that might be partly because of my natural hoity-toitiness and interest in things that [the boorish segment of] society rejects.
I am something of an elitist, especially when it comes to quality of paints.

Edit: Another show on CBC that I despise, and which is made for old people, is the Vinyl Café. Even though I find his stories to be somewhat amusing, I just hate the show. I think it's his voice and the way he talks. GRRR! And my parents dragged/guilted me to a live thing of it. *rage*

Fruitbat 08-29-2010 07:04 PM

*Looks around nervously* Mr Bat and I used to lay awake at night and listen to MPR. Always interesting to listen to noncommercial news channels - get the real story.

Tears - yeah I'm hilarious in my own mind. (hehe)

I'm lucky to get 4 hours of broken sleep a night - it's been that way for two+ years. I know I'm having a bad day when I think the Wiggles are cute!

LaBelleDameSansMerci 08-29-2010 07:41 PM

The other thing that's nice about noncommercial news channels is that they don't have all the often-stupid/boring/inane/insane commercials...
Though PBS and TVO and public TV stations have pledge-breaks in which they cancel all their good shows like Jeeves and Wooster or Monty Python's Flying Circus for things like specials about Doo-Wap music *shakes head at the stupidity.*

CBC 1 is pretty much all interview/new/documentary radio, except for things like Vinyl Tap (as distinguished from Vinyl Café - Tap is sometimes good, depending on the theme of the music he's playing, Café is just... seethe-inducing).
CBC 2 is mostly classical, although they're getting some new music in (frowns because there aren't (m)any classical stations in the area, and I do like classical/Baroque/even older music).

Fruitbat 08-30-2010 04:26 AM

LaBelle *nods head in agreement* I hate commercial radio stations. I won't listen to them anymore.

Despanan 08-30-2010 07:31 PM

Wake up in the morning,
clock says half past one
I have no sunglasses
As I step into the sun

There's no recollection
of the evil things I've done
My head feels like I musta' had some fun

What happened?

Last thing I remember
I was chillin at a party
Pinching girlie's asses
I was drinking recklessly

I know I did something
Lord what could it be
Woke up in the morning
And all my friends hate me

What happened?

What I'm I doing here
Who is this girl in my bed
What is this shit on my face
My God, what is that awful smell

She may be an angel
She may be a queen
She might be black, white, American, Indian or Japanese
Thru a bottle at a bouncer
Didn't think that he was cool
Pissed in someones drink
And thru a bike into a pool

Driven down the side walk
Like a drunken possessed fool
I broke every single traffic rule.

What happened?
What happened?

Let's go

Man you've been missing out if you don't know Sublime.

Well I can't take pity on men of his kind,
Even though he now takes it in the behind!
