Words you LOVE <3
 

I’m a native English speaker and I always thought my English to be mutually intelligible. Recently I’ve been thrust into a group on international students, all of whom are all fluent in English, who sometimes have trouble understanding me and vice versa. I’ve come to realize that my vernacular is somewhat unique.

I, unlike a lot of people on G.net, do not hate slang. I love it. So I thought we could use a thread for words we LOVE. Post Slang or phrases etc that you or the people near you use. Maybe give definition or usage. You can even just post common words that you love. Any word is fine.

Siddity – Stuck up, blatantly pretentious, arrogant etc.

Usually a siddity person has no merit. Their arrogance is unjustified.
Siddity people want their imagined preeminence to be acknowledged by every one.
Its generally used for woman and implies some amount of cattiness.

Example: “Nina is the president of the Siddity Committee thus she pushes people off the sidewalk for wearing cheap clothing.”

I love the word Chupacabra. I say it all the time.

+1 for chupacabra or any sort of cryptozoological, supernatural or unidentified flying phenomena.

Some other favorites are Gnome and Clandestine.

I LOVE CHUPACABRA!

Instead of "Hijo del puta" me and my friends say "Hijo del Chupacabra."
We're hoping it will catch on.

My words for today are:

Bloody-Nora (general swear word)
Whacka - : Idiot; somebody who talks drivel; somebody with whom you have little patience; a dickhead.
Kipper: (I've always loved this one)
Dag: a funny person, nerd, goof (but considering it also means the poo that hangs around the tail of a sheep, it's stretching the meaning).
Conniption: - it's for those ARGH!!!!! Moments in life.
Recalitrant: - uncontrollable (This is my word of the moment).

AD - I like wench too.

bootylicious- having a scrumptious booty.
floccinaucihilipilification- to estimate something of more than its worth.

Rabbits! (it means nothing, but it makes people wonder what the hell you are going on about when you exclaim it in a loud voice!)

Especially if you are made of water. ;)
