My Introduction
 

I don't really know how to introduce myself. I'm one of the individuals who sees things how they really are and treats humanity the way it deserves. I'm a kid who has piercings, tattoos, can't get a job, and lives a gothic lifestyle, looking for other people like me, people I can converse with and share ideas with. Where I live, there are only a few people that are like me and they are douche bags I would rather not even look at. I guess talking to people like me on the internet is the closest I will get to what I'm looking for.

I don't have many hobbies. I write poetry they eventually turn them into songs. I pierce my friends, non-profit. I do this because my dream is to become a well known and reputable body piercer, then eventually a tattoo artist.

Anne Rice, Tom Clancy, and Stephen King.

I'm not sure. If I had to choose I wouldn't be able to decide between quick and painless or slow and painful. Going out with a bang in a really dark way would be good enough, when the time comes.

What kind of casket would you want?

I wish to be cremated. Who receives them is yet to be known.

While your not pale not goth thread asks a valid question. You don't seem to actually know anything about goth.

First off your music it's alright to listen to, don't like it myself, but it has nothing to do with goth. Keep in mind the whole real difference between goth or not, is your taste in music. In order to actually be a goth, you actually have to listen to and enjoy Gothic rock, simple as that.

Secondly, the clothes don't matter. However that being said, it just sounds stupid to me when people call pants "bondage pants". despite the fact that said pants have no actual use in bondage. None. zip. zilch. If you were to actually try restraining someone with them, all you would end up with is ripped pants, because from what I've heard and even seen on a classmate back in high school, the quality on those things completely suck.

Then there is the boots, like the bondage pants they shouldn't be called "military boots", god help us if the military ever gets issued boots like those. Those boots look like they would end up being a hindrance in actual battle, in the brief time before they actually fall apart. I have a retired Lt Colonel for a father, so I've gotten my hands on three varieties of actual military issue boots.

Finally, cut it with the whole "Going out with a bang in a really dark way" crap, you wanna die a dark death? go die in an alley after getting stabbed by a prostitute or something. It's completely pointless, stupid, and unnecessary, and you won't gain any respect here for it. You want to gain some respect? die an honorable death, die saving your mother from a house fire, die on the operating table in an attempt at donating your organs to someone, or simply die in your sleep fulfilled after a long fruitful life. Don't die an asshole.

I'm not in a good mood right now to be quite frank.

You do realize that there are over 25 different types of goth right?

Just because I don't dress the way that you do, doesn't mean I'm not goth.

Goth music sucks in my opinion, why would I listen to it? I don't have to listen to it to be goth.

I am Gothic punk, I can dress however the hell I like, its not like to outfit I described the the only thing I wear unlike other goths.

Most goths are wannabes because they don't understand, that being goth is a mindset. I have that mindset, I don't criticize other goths for how they dress or the way they want to die, things like that have nothing to do with being goth.

Joining this site was a mistake because it seems to be full of ignorant assholes, not saying everyone is, but in the topics I have been in and created there is a lot of them.

You know, only wannabes say that. The fact that you say it show us you've never actually met a real goth, and you just swallowed what the mainstream media you probably oh-so-hardly try to avoid, tells you is goth.

We have members here that were around when goth was barely starting, and we can tell you that you really now nothing about what goth is.



So now, you have two options here. You can admit you've never actually known what goth is and learn little by little in a constructive manner and later on decide if it's for you or not, or you can be a pretentious little prick and pretend that at your young age you know what WE are better than ourselves, many being old school veterans, some of them having even met people like Dinah Cancer and Siouxsie Sioux, and one of them having trolled Voltaire.

Most people with your 'mindset' end up being of the 'pretentious prick' category, mainly because they're too immature to accept the fact that they're wrong. Please don't fall into that category.

Goth isn't a mindset, don't delude yourself. There are't 25 different types of goth either, that's just something that people came up with in the last few years as a way to try to claim to be a goth without actually being one.There is only ONE Gothic rock.

We have members here who were goths before you were even born, even some who remember when it got started in the early 1980s.

I'm guessing you got all your reliable info from your highschool chums. Lord knows that sort of info is always reliable, just like it was when you were younger and told you all about cooties. When it comes to something you're completely new in it is wise to defer to your elders, ie: us. At the very least check out wikipedia if you don't believe me, it'll tell you the exact same thing I did.

But fine, use the "Everyone's an idiot but me" way out, it always works for Homer Simpson. Just remember, unless you're a complete idiot(like Homer), if you don't accept the truth when it is offered to you on a silver platter like we have here, it will hit you like a ton of bricks when you realize the truth later on, and it will haunt you for the rest of your life. You know that practically everybody believes this about themselves, missing the fact that our views of life, the universe and everything are overwhelmingly shaped by social, cultural, and various other forces, that half the time they don't even know are acting upon them, right?
