Clothes shopping when trying to lose weight?
I'm at a dilemma and would appreciate some input. First, I'm fat and trying to lose weight. Optimistically I estimate that if I work really hard and don't take breaks then it will take me about a year to lose the weight I want- assuming my body decides to cooperate.
I'm also addicted to clothing and jewelry. But, if this works, my sizes will be constantly fluctuating. There are clothes and jewelry (rings are the big issue) that I want to buy but am afraid to because if I lose the weight then they will be to big for me- and I don't trust my sewing skills at present. So if you were in a similar situation, would you buy clothing knowing that it may be unwearable in a year's time? Should I just buy incentive clothing? Or should I just hold off altogether and wait? Thanks. |
wait until you lose the weight.

Buy clothing that fits you now, if you drop more weight you can always get them taken in by a tailor, basic alterations are fairly inexpensive.

It seems that you are trying to spend less on your clothing. But if you really are serious in losing weight then buy new clothes after you have lose weight. Think of this as a motivation that after you achieved the size that you want, you can buy new clothes that would make you look more beautiful. Of course, everyone is beautiful no matter what their size is but being in a right shape makes you healthier and makes you more beautiful than you are right now. Just focus more on your goal of losing weight. Stay pretty and be always confident! :)
