Coloured contact lenses

I fancy getting a pair of coloured contacts for Halloween (and for frequent use if they rock)

Has anyone had any experience with them? Do they irritate your eyes a lot?

They're fine so long as you change the saline regularly, like 2-3 times a week. And they're not the disposable single uses variety... otherwise you can't keep them.

Not meant to irritate, this website, EvilEyes.com features many styles and choices, even scleral contacts. They guarantee no bothersome contacts. Also meant for the "Gothic-inclinde". :P

The thing about the fancy contacts is that they always come in a "median" curve, which can be a bit uncomfortable for some people. With prescription contacts, the doctor measures your curve, and your prescription lenses will be to your exact curve, making them more comfortable. The fancies only come in one curve. I do have some fancy contacts that I wear occasionally, but they are nowhere near as comfortable as my plain prescription contacts. :)

Black sclerals= yum
I wants me a pair, but I'm in the UK- so there's fewer firms that do them, and I need prescription.

I wear them constantly and they ne'er vex me nor my eyes. But do use eye droppers lest they irritate.

And Good luck on them.

Had a look around, but can't find any less than 25 pounds, which is way too much to be spending on a small part of a Halloween outfit. :(

Not true! Halloween is by far the best holiday of the year. It is totally worth every penny.

Now, what color eyes should I have? I'm going to be a dark bedraggled porcelain doll. I'm investing a great deal of money into re-making a silk dress of mine, complete with tiny silver skull buttons. It should be amazing.

Dark crimson red, to flow with the dark (evil) theme? Or bright crystal blue, for contrast, like the innocence under the dark exterior...

The dress sounds great, you'll have to post photos. :D

Eyes like the Corinthian. dear gods yes.

I love that site! very very expensive though (for me anyway) I'd love a pair of sclerals. I think I saw a pair of black sclerals with electric blue irises. VERY nice indeed!.

I have used the 30 day disposables. I had black and then silver. The silver actually freaked people out more than the black for some reason. I really disturbed one girl working behind the bakery counter!!!!! * evil laughter ensues*

Delkaetre 10-22-2006 06:25 AM

pure black sclerals would be nice. They're what I really want if I get sfx lenses. I'd have to wear my glasses with them, though, because they don't do prescription.

I may have to wait until next Halloween... It's going to be an insanely intense project, and I don't want to rush it.
