I love using color eye liners for eye shadows. Though i know its two different things the color eye liner makes its look more full. The color is better and it stays longer.

any one else use eye liners for eye shadow?

I have a metallic turquoise eyeliner that I use as shadow sometimes, but I mostly just use Ben Nye Lumiere eyeshadow. You mix it with their Liquiset and apply it wet, and it stays put much better than using regular eyeliner, and the colors are just as opaque and bright. :)

Actually, I do just the opposite... I use a little brown eyeshadow and a tiny brush to smudge my eyeliner and make it look more smokey.

How do you get shadows with just liner instead of shadow?

I think you apply a lot & then smudge.

Though I reckon you should just stick with good old powder shadow.

I have always gotten my Ben Nye from Easleys:

But lately, they havn't been carrying the Lumiere Luxe Powder without sparkles. For some reason, they ony have the Sparkle Luxe Powder recently. Here's 2 other places that carry it. I haven't ordered from them yet, but I think I will shortly. :)

If you happen to have a theatre shop near you, they usually carry Ben Nye. :)

Hmmm..

I also use water and a nice eyeshadow to make eyeliner. Most of my eyeliner is in hard pencil form that is too hard to spead over the entire eyelid. Some eye pencil are of a softer material and more smudgy. I think that would work better. Also..loose powder is pretty cool. There are some by Loreal that are pretty cheap, and some by Benefit that are a little more expensive. Oh yeah..I think it was Loreal that has a eye pencil that is soft enough to be used as a liner. Comes in mostly pretty pastel shades.
