Bauhaus Reunites
Bauhaus
Guitarist Daniel Ash, bassist David J, drummer Kevin Haskins and vocalist Peter Murphy have reunited — again — to revisit the deep, dark depths of the Bauhaus catalog and spread a little gloom into your sunny, yet strangely bereft life. If you’ve ever wondered what "Bela Lugosi's Dead" and "In the Flat Field" might sound like with a little more fire under them, you’ll get your chance to find out when Bauhaus plays the Paramount. Sadly, there will be people saying " Who's Bauhaus? "
|
Bauhaus? Oh, That band I already saw live about a week before I saw Massive Attack...
Oh, yeah, they were good.... :P :) :P :) |
I heard about the resurrection tour a week or two ago from the Bauhaus website. I'm hoping to go see them when they play Chicago in November. I Just need to find people to go with.
|
So how long do you all think it'll be untill Murphy pisses everyone else off /again/ and the band splits up /again/.
My money's on three weeks, any takers? |
Haha, probably something like that. But then Peter Murphy has had a rather good solo career.

Bauhaus \m/...non-metal but still so adorable!
They will never come here *sigh* |
Call me jaded but until they come out with an album of new material I am not buying into it. If they came out and said that they were doing it for the money then I would have some respect for the venture. Their individual careers haven't been doing well so they get back together to earn some cash. Peter Murphy and the rest of the band weren't even talking to one another for over ten years because they couldn't stand one another. I remember reading their arguments in the press all of the time back in high school.

I got to see Bauhaus play in Chicago on November 9th. It was a really good show. Peter Murphy's sounding as good as ever, and the band is still tight. They all look surprisingly young and fit for their age too.
I had a bit of a serendipitous experience on my trip to Chicago with my dad. We booked a hotel around the corner from The Vic the day of the show and drove down that same day as well. We got there at just about the perfect time, as the doors opened late and we hardly had to wait out in the cold at all, though I'd been worried about being late. Anyway, after the show my dad and I got some food and went back to the hotel. In the lobby, I saw a tall blond guy coming off the elevator with some luggage and I walked past him in the lobby. I was almost completely sure that it was David J, the bassist for Bauhaus, but since I'm shy and figured he'd be tired and eager to be on his way I just smiled and said hello. The next day a hotel employee informed my dad and me that the entire band had been staying in that hotel for three days. I dunno, I just thought it was kind of cool how that worked out. We stuck around Chicago the next day and just shopped around and enjoyed being in the city. We drove home that night. I'm glad to have been able to experience Bauhaus first hand. It's something I don't think I'll ever forget. |
You are sooooooooo lucky!!!!!!!
|
Heh, I suppose I am, aren't I? :P
|
Bah!
Yet another thing I don't have the privilege to get excited about! Maybe if it's a band that plans on coming to Houston, I'll get my hopes up. |
